This hotel was very nice and we loved the creative restoration and repurposing of the building. It was clean and great location. Not sure we will stay there again though simply because the cost was pretty high but it was a neat spot for an overnight or a weekend in Frederick.

Great hotel; noisy
Very friendly staff; exceptionally clean room. Even with the vintage architecture, the Visitation felt modern. The only drawback was the people in the adjoining room - they were very loud. Some rooms do not seem to have isolated acoustics.

The hotel was clean, new and extremely comfortable. Very unique. Some of the signage in the building was confusing. You had to sometimes enter areas that said “staff only” to access the fitness center.

Hotel was outstanding! Staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Facilities were amazing….great execution on the repurposed facility. Location couldn’t have been any more convenient for walking Downtown Frederick. Only criticism would be checking in via valet parking was awkward. We’ll be back to stay here again for sure!

The water pressure was poor, the hot water wasn't very hot. They need another trash can in the bathroom and with two people in the room we had difficulty finding a spot to hang the towels.

Top of the line excellent Boutique Hotel!
I was highly impressed with how much care was taking into the restoration of historic artifacts. The hotel and the rooms were impeccably clean and furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom modern I'm already making plans to stay in the future this is an awesome spot close to downtown. I know some people gave a low review because the construction that's going on and that the hotel has only been open for a couple of months and if those things bother you then perhaps you should wait. I don't think a rating should suffer for ongoing improvements

Great property. Charged us twice for some reason, but we are getting our money refunded and I’m sure they will work out that glitch so it doesn’t happen in the future.

Working out the kinks
There were a few basic items that the hotel ran out of - napkins and water bottles for example. In the gym, there were only three cardio machines and 1 was not working.
This hotel appears to be working out some kinks.

We were told that Expedia miscalculated the availability and that there were no rooms available. We had to book elsewhere.

The front desk staff are amazing and very nice, the property is an old Catholic school and has a lot of charm.
However, the manager, Dana looks down upon people who book with Orbitz. The AC didn’t work properly in my room and she refused to even move me to a slightly less comparable room without me paying an up charge because I got the best room in the hotel because I had a great deal on Orbitz. In the end, she tried to stick me in one of the lowest rooms out by the street and I’m not so great area. The rest of the staff was unbelievably nice and very professional. However, they will charge you $50 to check in early even a couple hours even if the room is ready. They have a lot of events here and people that travel internationally. I think they’re taking shameless advantage of people checking in a couple hours early. The AC is in the units don’t work that well. They could not get the temperature below about 73. When Orbitz called, Dana told them that the temperature had went down 3° in a short period of time which was not true. The air conditioner never went below 72. They ended up bringing a portable air conditioner, which although it worked the Maintenance guy couldn’t figure out how to properly set it up and when he left, I ended up doing it. Would I be back probably not I felt like this just left a bad taste in my mouth and they do not like when you get your reservation on Orbitz.

This was an experience! From check in (champagne served) to check out it was a memorable stay! I love the old and new concept decor, antiques placed thoughtfully throughout the property added an endearing feel. Restaurant located inside (Wye Oak Tavern 5pm to 11pm ) food was amazing (my husband says it's the best burger in town. I had the crab cake and it was all lump meat. Yummy (you need reservations so book ahead you don't have to be a guest staying at the hotel). The bar inside use to be a sanctuary (stunning views). The bartenders are skilled, attentive, professional, friendly and they make superb drinks( you can order food here after 5pm no rsvp needed). They did not disappoint one bit! Rooms are cozy and well decorated. Bedding was soft, crispy clean and relaxing. We appreciated the short history welcome letter. Art work was displayed throughout the hotel, this added a luxurious feel walking through. This place is simply put charming!
