Lovely venue, outside the village and surrounded by common land and golf course. Watch out for the cows!! Breakfast was nice and they accommodated my slightly early check-out time.

Great place to stay

Stayed here while golfing at nearby Minchinhampton golf club, just the job, the lodge only has 6 rooms right by the old golf ciurse.

6/10 Okay

overnight stay

overnight stay - unusual location on remote common but bustling restaurant / pub. staff very friendly and great breakfast - my only gripe is property needs some TLC - room was in poor condition and with a little work this could be a 9 out of 10

Number One Stay of Choice

My fave place to stay, wary of giving a review as only a few rooms so often fully booked, however second choice is their other hotel The Fleece, just a few miles away in the valley.
Sue, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

A lovely overnight stay. Room small and quirky but comfortable bed and although we could hear the people talking in the bar underneath the room it didn’t keep us awake. A lovely evening meal and excellent breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good choice.

I felt very at home at The Old Lodge and the staff were friendly and helpful. I love the wood and stone of the building. The food was good.

8/10 Good

Good food and surroundings.

Fine breakfast menu (especially porridge) and good proximity to Winstone's ice-cream. The evening menu was as good as the one for breakfast - including fish & chips.

Great Place to stay.

The room was excellent it had a four poster bed very comfortable. The room was serviced everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel are beautiful.
Manoj, 3-night trip

8/10 Good

Mostly fine. Staff very polite and helpful. Food good. Room clean and on tap tea was welcome! A couple of gripes: Low water pressure to bathroom sink - alslthough shower was fine. More importantly there was a distinct lack of light on path from car park to hotel entrance and at he door entrance, I needed my phone light to see the combination numbers on the door entry system.

A Gem on the Common

We travelled down for an overnight stay ready for a funeral. The staff were very helpful, the room was beautifully clean and airy. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous. It was lovely to be able to park the car easily and to walk on the common. We were very pleased and have booked to go again.

A lovely old pub with rooms

Nice old pub in a spectacular setting on the common outside Minchampton. Pleasant welcome, clean room if a little small with a small shower room. Dinner was good and well looked after by pleasant staff. Breakfast was disappointing, no cereal or fruit or yoghurts, just a cooked food.

There was a problem with my reservation booked through Expedia but it wasn't serious enough to jeopardize my stay. I stayed in the Old Lodgings which is a 4 minute walk towards town. It had been newly renovated and spacious.

Really beautiful Gloucestershire..oldy world style property...nicely modernised....however....bathroom needed a bit more attention....radiator rusty and looking tatty...cracks in the plaster...actually the cracks are good..totally an age thing..so I am saying thats a positive!!!!.The loo seat was well loose though.... had a fab evening meal...great food .....great cooking....and great service..Anna is an absolute star here...introduced me to my room.... served dinner...a fabulous, attentive , customer service focussed member of staff, shes an absolute asset !!, Disappointed at breakfast......lovely produce...cooked beautifully....but...served on an ice cold plate..!!!!.1 minute in a microwave for the plate, and it would have been breakfast perfection !!!... Hey otherwise.. a fabulous stay.. a fabulous venue with fabulous staff and fab service !!!!

Simply The Best

What's not to like ? Setting, building, rooms, restaurant, food , staff my first choice to stay when come to UK. Just disappointed could not get in for more nights.
Sue, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Great welcome from a couple of your team members and showed me to my room. Room Is a little basic and the curtains didn’t quite cover the window so was really light early doors which kept me awake. Breakfast quality was good but I didn’t see any option for orange juice or a cold drink which was a shame as everything else was good.
