Amazing room, great decor with nice pictures and books. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom. Very good food at the restaurant, generous breakfast included. Went back for Sunday roast and it was very good. Staff very nice and helpful. Would recommend to all my friends

Parking can be an absolute pain as inconsiderate drivers have a habit of blocking the narrow entrance to the carpark- Chelsea Tractors mindless morons. Parking in the yard is very good. Our room was for a wheelchair user thus the bathroom mirror was a bit to low for shaving - an additional one would be useful. Was a bit disappointed that both starter and main course were not available so I was told well after the order was made non 2 separate instances, first starter the later the main course. Second choices were well ok though. Excellent choice of breakfast. All in all an enjoyable stay, looking forward to using the hotel again as our son lives just down the road making this an ideal stop over.

This is truly a hidden gem! The staff, amazing. The room we stayed in was the oak room, it was fantastic! The resturant on site is too notch! Hats off to the chef as every meal, was absolutely fantastic and better than i would have ever thought! My wife and i pride ourselves in staying in random new places everytime we go somewhere new, this is the first rime we both agreed that when we come back to oxford for travels we'd come back to this hotel for sure 110%

I had a wonderful stay at The George Hotel. I stayed in the beautiful four-poster bedroom called “Ian Fleming,” which was full of character and very comfortable. The room felt spacious and well maintained, and the four-poster bed really added a special touch to the stay. The hotel also has a great parking facility, which made arrival and departure very easy and stress-free. Although I didn’t opt for breakfast because I was fasting, I really appreciated that there was a coffee machine in the room, which meant I could still enjoy a good coffee in the morning. Another highlight was the excellent shower pressure, which made for a very refreshing start to the day. Overall, a very pleasant stay with comfortable rooms, helpful staff, and convenient parking. I would happily stay again.

Lovely, friendly hotel. We stayed in the deluxe suite and cannot fault it. Large space, very clean, super comfortable bed and seating. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, we had our evening meal and breakfast and again cannot fault it. Plenty of spaces for parking and we had an added bonus of an extra hour before checkout at no extra charge. We had loved our stay here in a very nice quaint village opposite the Dorchester Abbey which is beautiful.

There was nothing to not like. The bedroom was divine, the bed comfy, everything you need and more, food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were so lovely and friendly. I shall return for a social visit and this will be my go to for when I'm working in the area. Thank you to Andrew and his team.

The heating was broken in the room I booked. After waiting for an hour or so, I was finally asked to move rooms. The replacement room was half the size, but warm, at least. Also, the toilet in the replacement room was broken, causing it to flush automatically every 5-10mins. There was what seemed to be pips banging together, which could be heard until then kitchen staff went home. Possibly watershutting off somewhere, shocking the pipes. I was glad to check out and go home, to be fair.

usual good service and comfort however was troubled this time by a thick layer of dust in the bedroom, especially on lamp, radio and tissue box next to bed as well as there being some debris on the bathroom floor. I expect better of any hotel let alone one that is usually very good in this respect

The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. It even had a couple of games and a book in the room. Pillows were a little on the hard side, but the bed was very comfortable. Considering we had a room overlooking the main road, it wasn't noisy at all. Staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good.
