Very welcoming, we were shown to our rooms with assistance offered for luggage. After settling in we visited the lovely bar and enjoyed the real ale which was on offer. Various local folk and other guests arrived and it was amazing that everyone got on so well and chatted away as if they had known each other for ever. We had dinner which was excellent at reasonable prices too. The only slight downside was that the inn was unable to offer breakfast although this is being sorted out imminently. Instead we were goven discounts at a local café which was, itself excellent. If staying in this area again we will one hundred percent stay here again.

Easy parking. Lovely staff. The room was really clean and comfortable. Check-in and out was very easy. Only thing we were unsure about is opening times for the restaurant were but other than that a really lovely stay and would come again.

The property was nice and clean / tidy and a lovely place to stay and nice and quiet too. The bar staff was nice and friendly and Megan was kind friendly as well, and I was happy with the bar service and the food was nice too.

Staff were great, the room was ok but could do with a bit of TLC. Decent size bath with shower. Coffee and tea making was provided and a 24 inch LG TV with freeview channels. Slept well.

Lots of parking, that was one of the good points. The lady I dealt with was pleasant enough. They don't open the kitchen on a Monday and they lock the pub up after the last booking arrived (about 7pm) and you are then left with no staff there. Dirty rooms, cobwebs and mould, wasp nest in the curtains. I bought a pint of beer witch I spat out on the floor because it was off and tested musty. The ballcock on the toilet is knackered (room 12) and I heard the sound of water trickling all night. The bed was clean though. I was tempted to book somewhere else but I'd been driving a long and had already paid to stay somewhere.

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut super! Die Speisenauswahl ist begrenzt, aber auch hier, super Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, wenn der Nachbar schnarcht, TV schaut oder redet, hört man das sehr gut!

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the pub/hotel has a lovely oldie world feel to it. The surroundings were very peaceful. The service was also faultless - when we asked for a couple of things to be changed in the room it was done immediately. The Walnut Tree was excellent value for what we paid. The only reason I have not given five stars is that the room was a little chilly when we arrived - but that resolved, and one mattress in our twin room (ref to landlord – the one nearest the window) could have done with a topper or updating. But that is not to denigrate what is a really lovely hotel for a great price.
