This is such a lovely hotel, it being clean and staff are friendly. We were completely immersed into the Japanese culture where we were offered the typical Kyoto breakfast (there is a small fee to pay for breakfast ) and experienced the tea ceremony. This was a very special stay for us. Anyone going to Japan should spend some time at a Ryokan. This one in particular was spectacular. You’re greeted with a breath-taking view of the garden when walking in, the staff were all very friendly and spoke great English. The western and Japanese breakfasts were both delicious. The tea ceremony was in particular very special for my wife and I. I was surprised how tranquil the ryokan is even though it’s sort of in the heart of Kyoto.
