Stay at Sleepy Hollow for the location. It's located in the town center with easy walking everywhere. It is an older property and a bit dated, but the room was clean.

We got there at 5 pm. The parking lots tight, the room reaked of smoke, the heater didnt work, the back door is damaged so coold air leaked in, bugs in the bathroom and bedroom. We didnt even stay the full trip we left immediatley the next morning

The property description said it was pet friendly but I didn't see any grass nearby for the dogs to do their business. We had to walk around looking for the best piece of dirt with some weeds. We really liked our cabin. Very roomy and would be great to bring the family.

The motel was quaint mountain-style. (Being in the mountains, this made sense.). But they took it to extremes as many things did not work: CO2 sensor had no batteries, the tv clicker would only allow a single channel, the wifi didn't work, the sink was dripping, and the shower head needed replacing.

Creepy lighting

The lighting wasn’t good and the couch beds were uncomfortable so we had to squeeze onto the king bed.

Overall, my stay at Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel was okay. The staff were friendly, check-in and check-out were smooth, and parking was convenient. The location is great—Lake Gregory is within walking distance, and it’s close to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. My main issue was that the room didn’t match the online photos. The pictures showed a cozy, country-style unit with a bedroom, kitchen, and living area for about $160 a night, but the actual room was very different. The “fully equipped kitchen” wasn’t functional—while the fridge and microwave worked, there was no usable stove, no proper utensils, and the drawers weren’t clean. I had planned to cook but couldn’t, which was disappointing. Other concerns: the air conditioner was noisy and emitted a gas smell; the bathroom had good water pressure but the toilet was uncomfortably small; the sofa looked dirty so I had to cover it with sheets; the room smelled old; the TV barely worked; and the window view was trash bins—with even a fly inside the cabin. I didn’t complain since no other rooms were available and chose to enjoy the lakes instead, but it was frustrating that the advertising felt misleading. The staff did their part well, but management should update photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect. For the price, I expected the room shown online. Overall: staff, check-in/out, and parking were fine; location excellent. But the room and amenities need honesty in advertising. Booked: Sept 27–29, 2025

Good enough

Staff was friendly. It was an over night stay. Room served its purpose. I was great that one of the few bars up that way was right on the next block from the hotel.

Cute but disappointed in service and room smelled

I booked this place for it's location, price and cuz it states "pets stay free" as we were bringing my husband's service animal (not considered a "pet" under the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA")) and my personal pet dog. Upon arrival, not only was the front desk clerk unfriendly, he asked how many people were staying in my room ("because you booked 1 king bed"). I thought that was strange since I already selected 2 occupants upon booking, plus it's not his business whether my guest and I sleep in 1 bed or 2. Then, when i asked for a 2nd room key for my husband, the clerk sighed like i was asking a difficult task. When we went to our room and noticed obvious signs saying "no pets" all over the property, I went back to ask the clerk if we were supposed to be in a dog-friendly room & somehow ended up in a 5-min back and forth go-nowhere conversation where he told me they charge $20/day extra for pets and I said their website says it's free and he said only if they're service animals and I said service animals are not pets, per the ADA. Anyway, i told him i won't pay the extra for my pet since their site says it's free. He finally gave in but that left a bad taste in my mouth. The property looked really cute and the room too (for a cheap place), but as soon as we entered we were bombarded w the stench of Pinesol & urine. Unfortunately, the urine smell didn't finally dissipate until around 3am after we left the AC on and had opened the window.

Terrible Maintenance of the Property

The location of Sleepy Hollow is incredibly desirable. It is a short walk to the North Shore of the lake, but the condition of the property is deplorable. So much so that I decide to write a review. The windows are new, but they don't have screens. It's a free-for-all the bugs that are naturally found in a woodsy area. This may even be a city code violation, if they ever came to check. There was dog feces on our balcony. The sofa was filthy. Many of the lightbulbs were out. The toilet clogged the first night we were there. The toilet was held in place with duct tape. I don't believe it's an issue of cleanliness. It appeared to me that management has intentionally decided not to hire a maintenance professional. Rather, they have someone who responds to emergencies. Then there's the price gauging. Their website says that if you stay for three nights, you can get free access to the lake. I called to inquire. They said that was an offer from the prior owner and that it is not something they currently offer. They said they had not updated the website in the three months they owned the place. I asked about making a reservation by phone and they quoted me an additional twenty-five per cent per night over the phone than what was advertised on their own website. That should have been the red flag not to book there, and we never will again.

Best Location But Needs Updated

Can’t beat the location. That’s the best part. The cabin itself was old and very dated. Very much needs updated. The towels were really bad. I’ve seen better towels at car washes. No soap or shampoo was provided so be sure to bring your own. The toilet kept running. The place came with cooking stuff but I wouldn’t use it. I’ve thrown better looking stuff away. The bed was at least comfortable. No end tables and only one outlet in the entire bedroom.
Thomas, 2-night trip

It was dirty. The room was not what I booked. There were large stairs not advised in the description and I went with my 80 year old mother. No alternatives offered. Horrible! I do not recommend.
