Budget friendly without getting lost.

After my last trip to Kyoto I find it best for new travelers to just stay near the station. That way you can explore to your hearts content without worrying about getting lost. As if you do just hop on any bus and head back to the station and your hotel. So this location hit the mark it’s close to the station and near a 7-11 so getting snacks are convenient. The check in easy and the rooms aren’t the biggest but for t budget friendly option it big enough. It’s clean and the beds are on platforms allowing us to story luggage under the bed. Would definitely stay again

Nice option for budget sensitive travelers

This is a budget hotel, great price but very small rooms as you can imagine. Nevertheless, it was clean and everything was in good shape. Not much of a view but that's ok because we were mainly there to sleep. It's close to everything, no issue finding stores, good restaurants and as close to the train station as possible. Overall a good place to stay but don't expect a 5 star luxury hotel.

We stayed in four hotels in Japan and this was by far our least favorite and most expensive (but we loved Kyoto). Be aware that this is an unserviced hotel. So no one came in to clean up, they just put a bag of towels, etc on our door each day. After three days our trash cans were overflowing (pic). We asked the front desk for more water and they refused saying only one bottle per visit, no matter how many days. The room was on the second floor and had a view of nothing but another building (pic). There was a thin door in the wall (fire escape?) that allowed all of the noise from the b1 dining room to come in to the room (pic). They had no coffee or tea service in the lobby/dining, just instant packets in the room. In the morning, the hallway was strewn with trash, laundry, linens, etc.(pic) instead of using maid carts to service each room one at a time. We paid much less in Tokyo, Odawara and shizuoka and got MUCH more. Unless you are a business person looking for a place close to the train station for one night, don't bother... Stay somewhere on the JR line further from the station. You'll spend less and have a better stay.

Great location and great hotel

First time to Kyoto. Great location within easy five minute walking distance from Kyoto station. Excellent access to public transportation in the area to get to all major sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were compact yet ergonomically designed to feel spacious. Quiet. Great breakfast.

Great location for a place to stay in Kyoto. We loved how close to the train station it was for day trips in the area. The breakfast buffet was great with a good variety of both Japanese and western options for a reasonable price. The room was small (which we expected for Japan) but had all of the necessities needed for our stay. The only complaint was the shower was extremely cramped for my husband who is 5’10”. He could not stand in it and had to crouch down in order to shower. Overall we would go back again and were satisfied with our stay.

Located about 4 mins walk from Kyoto station, the hotel is easily accessible if you're coming by train. The bus terminal is also just outside the train station, so it is easy to travel within the city. Room was clean and sufficient. Size as a little bigger than expected for APA hotel. Hotel staff were friendly as well and spoke sufficient english. Will stay here again if coming to Kyoto.

Great location for all transportations!

Great location right next to Kyoto Station. It was very cold in mid March and the heating system wasn’t working well. The bathroom was very cold as the heat didn’t warm up the room.

Very nice hotel. Clean property and bed. Staff are friendly. Although it’s common in Japan that they won’t let you check in before 3pm. You can try after 2:30pm, the hotel offers a little flexibility, otherwise you are expected to pay ¥1000 Japanese yen per hour if you check in early. Their location is perfect for me, so close to the Kyoto Station, just a few minutes walk. I also stayed at another APA location, they are a quality brand.
