Location is great

View from the room was amazing. The room was modern and clean. Everything worth seeing for tourist is within walking distance. Parking is pricey, 20€ per night. Staff was friendly but sometimes not very attentive.

Excellent hotel with great view

The suits are spacy and very comfortable with good standard. It was actually our second time at the hotel. The location and the breakfast were both great. We would absolutely recommend it. On the negative side you have to pay to empty the minibar. Otherwise it was not possible to have anything of our own in the minibar.

The hotel exterior and entrance is looking very tired. The awful fragrance being used makes it smell like a care home! The rooms though are fabulous inside with the only issue was having very little hot water for our showers. Do try the Spa it is absolutely beautiful and a bargain at 25 euros each. You must pre book though. It’s a perfect location for exploring Alicante We have stayed here before and will stay again just don’t let the exterior put you off.

A nice hotel close to the beach and city center

Vi stayed for 12 nights. The hotel is located close to the beach, city center and the castle. We were very satisfied with the suite. Housekeeping was excellent. The breakfast was also very good. The only downside was that despite quite a high price the hotel demanded a charge of 6 euros/day for clearing the minibar. We would very much like to have some of the items we usually use in the minibar. The hotels explanation is that they have outsourced the minibar service.

2nd stay here, although the exterior of the building looks dated and shabby, the rooms are excellent, breakfast is lovely, private pool for suites is great. Pool temperature is cold could do with turning on the heat. Staff are very helpful. Plenty of good transport. Taxi to and from the airport is 25 euros each way so don’t get a private transfer. Ryanair wanted 117 euros!! Will return again next year.

Was disappointed that the heating in our room didn’t work and after complaining it took over 1 hour 30 mins to get it partially resolved then after 2 hours fully resolved but only stayed one so most of the afternoon in the room wasted . Breakfast not up to the usual standard also

We loved the hotel and location. Sauna was out of order for couple of days which was a shame and for the last 3 days they didn’t provide us with fresh towels in the afternoon which was a bit disappointing but we enjoyed our stay. Pool area isn’t big enough for the hotel so summer time probably will be a problem to get a place as it does get busy. We thought it’s was adults only hotel but it’s not the case. Pool isn’t not big enough for children to have fun. Also pool is not heated and most of people didn’t bother some days water felt like it was topped up with ice but it’s march. Gym is really small as well but as I said we enjoyed it anyway.

Waiting forever

As many have obviously done before me, at tried to check-in at the wrong Melia. The posh one with the nice interior. Oh, you're in the wrong place, Sir. Walk about 50 steps and walk straight into the 90s. Suites del Mar looks old. Waiting for check-in was a disaster. The wait was somewhere between 30-40 minutes, because the guys at reception were busy storing the luggage of guest checking out. No apologies, no smile. I was early for check-in, but the experience was a bummer. The room (junior suite) facing the marina was huge and clean, much more modern than the common areas (the pool area next to the cafeteria looked positively old). One huge problem for me were the night lights in the room - one above the bathroom door, one in the living room and one by the entrance. Extremely bright lights that can't be turned of (safety reasons?), so if you're sensitive to light, stay away. In general this feels like a 2-3 star hotel taking far too much money for a nights stay.

Fantastiskt hotell och otroligt rent. Hotellrummet kollades av flertalet gånger varje dag. Enda nackdel var toaletterna då flertalet var avstängda på grund av service och i hotellrummet gick det inte att stänga någon dörr om toaletten.
