Room was clean, and nicely decorated in an old fashioned style with quirky art. Bed was clean and fresh if a bit soft. Dinner in the bar was quite nice, but service hours are vety short. We arrived 6pm as dinner was starting. We went out to an event, but the bar and restaurant was shut, and the building was all locked up when we arrived back just after 9.30pm. There were no staff.to check out with, and no breakfast offered.

The room was clean and tidy. I do have to say though, wallpaper under the window is falling off and also in the bathroom on the ceiling above the toilet. The heated towel rail arm was also loose. Room also seemed a little small, not exactly expected for what was supposed to be a superior double room.

Easy access to the road for our road trip. We were disappointed by the phone call trying to stress us about arrival time; it was 6pm, latest option was 8pm… Cleanliness was mixed; clean en-suite and very good shower. Major dust between me and the plug socket beside the bed for phone charging. Overall ok, would use again if passing.

The room was clean, comfortable and well furnished though possibly a bit cramped for 2 people. The heating warmed the room quickly but was very noisy. It's a pleasant quiet area but when there is any noise you can hear it, including anything happening in adjacent rooms. The stairs are very steep. It's a little odd having no staff on a desk, you just get a key from a lock box.

Arrived after an eleven hour drive to be told there was no food available despite advertised as “food served all day” So had to drive to find somewhere to eat. Back to room, no remote for the television, reported it twice, told someone would be up to sort it, no one came to sort by the time I left the next morning. Very disappointed.

We had a four night stay. Room was clean when we arrived but was not cleaned again until our last day. This was only done because I asked for dry towels and for our room to be cleaned. The staff were very friendly but didn't seem very knowledgeable. Communication was very poor. The room had an information booklet and gave menu's for the bar/ restaurant but no opening hours. However signs outside stated serving food all day long. This was not the case,I asked for the opening hours and the answers were very vague. Our mattress was old and lumpy so not the best. This place could be amazing with a bit of structure. I really disliked not being greeted when we arrived. We were sent a code for the keybox and found our own way to the room. We never saw anyone at the reception desk. We did eat on one night and the food and service was very good.I also liked the location of the property.

I have passed the inn many times over the years and always wanted to stay . The photos online , pub with log burning fire , fantastic food . When I arrived no one on site pub lights on . Easy access to room which was lovely, read through the extensive and appetising menu , went down to find pub lights on but all locked up . Called the number to be told that they open at weekends. It was now after 7 , had to jump in the car and drive to nearby town , lots of fast food places an Indian Chinese restaurant. As a woman on her own I was looking forward to going down for dinner then back to my room . Came back again didn’t see a soul dark but pub lit up thank goodness. Not the stay I expected.

Rooms were lovely and well decorated. Beds were really comfortable. The only downfall was dinner. We waited almost an hour for food and one meal arrived very cold. Shame as it looked good otherwise. The meal was removed from the bill.
