Have been to Quebec old Port many times and I’ve stayed at several different hotels. This one was charming the staff was wonderful and it was within walking distance of everything. The location was conveniently located to restaurants and the tourist information center. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. My only negative experience was with the bedding. The bed cover was basically a thick duvet, with no top sheet. That type of cover is fine if the room was chilly, which it wasn’t, but much too heavy for those of us who don’t require much cover at night. It was difficult to get truly comfortable.

The hotel is very nicely situation in the lower town and close to the water, but not right in the very busy part of lower town. Location wise, we found it nice, but be aware that the way Quebec City is situated, you will most likely need to walk up (or take funicular) to the top of the hill for many activities/dinners/food. You can walk to restaurants and activities in the Old Port as well as in the lower town, but the Chateau Frontenac and old fortifications as well as many restaurants will require a steep walk. The standard room provides a normal size bed (not queen) and a European sized room. This means it can be a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage, but it's definitely bigger than some rooms we've had when in Europe! The bathroom is quite small with the sink outside, but the shower was impressive with multiple showerheads at different levels! Check in was helpful and clear and there was an elevator, although if you don't have luggage or mobility issues, the stairs are not bad.
