Small but mighty! The room may have been smaller, but it was super efficiently-designed, basic but good bathroom amenities, and right in the middle of things (5-10 minute walk to pretty much any Broadway show or the subway to take you elsewhere) yet somehow still quiet and cozy. A couple things to note... - Pack light! The rooms are small, and there's no elevator BUT the front desk staff is super friendly and offered to take my bag up to my room upon arrival. - The rooms are only cleaned/restocked upon request, though with the size it was nice being able to unpack and not worrying about wanting to tuck anything away during the day. - They charge $5/bag to store your luggage. Cash only. - Heading to the airport? Skip a taxi or standard Uber/Lyft and opt for Uber Shuttle - it picks up 2 blocks away at 47th and 6th (in front of the Disney Store in Times Square) for under $20/person.

No hotel should have their staff being a snob about waiting to check in at 4pm during the winter slow season in NYC. That is an exceptional behavior this time of year have never been to another property that acts this way during the winter they all gladly check you in because there are tons of rooms available.

We stayed for 4 days, on the 4th floor, right next to the stairs. I asked when checking in if we could move to a lower floor at any time during our stay & I was told most likely that yes that would probably be possible. The next day the manager said no, for our room type, nothing else was/or would be available. The 2nd night there were people running up/down the stairs & running, very noisy above us. The entire bathroom gets wet when showering, they could have extended the glass next to the toilet so at least the toilet would not get wet. No washcloths were available, had to go to target to pick those up. The front desk males were very unfriendly, no acknowledgment upon entering or exiting the property, or asking if there was anything we needed. The location of this property was great, but I would not stay here again based on the above comments.

For the price I paid for 12/31-01/02, it was worth it! The location was perfect and away from the Times Square crowd. The hotel room was small but very clean. They had water available at most floors which was great because the tap water tasted horrible. The lounge was very cozy; great for reading and writing and snacking. They provided coffee. This hotel reminded me of a hostel in Europe; it had a student doem university feel. This is a simple and youthful hotel but very creative and artistic.

Initially walked right by the hotel the location is not very well displayed or demarcated. The room was clean and nice and staff was very good. The water wasn’t always hot though. It was just warm enough to not be cold during the day except in the morning when it was scalding.
