Staff are lovely and the room we stayed in was nice with lovely views of the sea. The advertised gaming room did not exists which was what swang the booking for us.
We had issues with keys on our first night causing my partner to be locked out of the building, as did another guest who we had to help gain access.
The low score really reflects our experiences bringing a dog. We were presented with an additional charge of £25/day on arrival for the dog which makes it quite a bit more expensive than far better places to stay with your dog in the area.
It is difficult to find dog friendly places to eat nearby of an evening so we popped next door (gone 30 mins, left 8:15pm) to grab some food and left him in the room. We received frantic calls from the staff and owner (4 calls, 2 voicemails and 2 texts in the space of 10 mins) because the dog had been barking whilst we were out (our bad, he doesnt usually but may have in unfamiliar surrondings on a noisy street).
Later that evening we found another guest outside smoking when we went out to walk the dog. I initially thought she was locked out so asked if she was ok. She ignored me, staring at the door, seemingly quite drunk, then she became quite rude accusing us of abandoning our dog and leaving him for hours... it quickly became clear she had lied to the staff, exagerating the time the dog had been left for.
We decided to cut our losses (non refundable) and go elsewhere after 2/4 days. Life's too short.
