Lovely retreat with our 9 month old and the grandparents. Staff were great and couldn’t do enough to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel lovely friendly staff on-site car park has chargers for electric vehicle vehicles. Fantastic spa and swimming pool food was superb in the two restaurants. It’s right at the south of Lake Windermere so literally you can walk over to the ferry to do a ferry cruise to Ambleside or Bowness on Windermere Winder - it also has an aquarium and a steam train during the summer month. We didn’t bring our dog, but it is a dog friendly Hotel you really enjoyed our stay and already planning on bringing the dog for another trip

The park was nearby, the lakeside setting was fabulous and the staff lovely. The food was good, especially the breakfast was sensational. The dining room/ restaurant was a bit institutional and soulless. It was strange that the bar could have run out of plain crisps, indeed all crisps but the most exotic of flavours by Saturday lunchtime of a busy weekend. Someone with a bit of initiative could have run across to the Aquarium cafe and scooped up their's. But that is a minor detail. The cosy room was of a good size with a bath. .
