Room had cockroaches and was very basic with not even a way to heat water for tea or coffee. Bed was comfy though. Shower and water pressure were pretty good. Location location location is the property’s biggest attribute. Half block to beach. Pool area was great. Owner and staff were very welcoming, kind, and eager to answer questions and chat. The toilet broke while there and they fixed right away. I would stay again!

In thirty-plus years of travelling, this is the only time we have left a hotel because we just couldn’t stay there. When we originally booked, the MK was rated as 10/10; however, though we are fine with rustic, it was about as far from that as possible. First of all, when we checked in, the pool was green and full of debris, with gravel all around it, an empty, rundown pool shack, and a bunch of iguanas. The description on hotels.com said that theirs was a top-rated pool. (It did get cleaned before the next morning) Second, when we checked into our bungalow, we found there were no amenities. No shampoo, only two towels, a light sheet on the bed, no hot water in the sink, no safe, no TV and the door was very difficult to open because it was falling off its hinges. There was a glass door across from the shower that led to the “patio,” but it was locked, and peeking through the cracks, it looked to be an enclosed area about 4ft by 5ft, full of tree branches and leaves. The room itself was concrete, which was fine, but the small curtain-covered window made you feel like you were in a jail cell. It did not feel safe or secure. When we woke up in the morning, sewage was seeping out from under the toilet. When we reached out, I think the staff tried to make things better, and we were offered another room. We looked at the other room but ultimately decided to leave. We found another hotel for $20 more per night—full amenities, better location, great pool and safe.

This to me needs to be addressed. We had No water in our room for 4 days of the 8 day stay! Wifi was spotty at best and forced us to pay for Data. A 20 a day fee we were hoping to not occur during our stay. We should not of needed to pay if they had their wifi working, it was supposed to be provided. The manager Eric resigned during our stay, the bald assistant was not only not helpful but almost defiant. Daniel owner and Eric clearly didn't communicate we had spoken to Eric about not having any water, several times. He tried to help and do what he could. A plumber was called in and still not rectified. They have serious issues with their water system. We bought water so we could fill our toilets to flush our faecal matter away, not pleasurable when you’re on vacation. We lugged the jugs up to our room. I get problems arise but we asked since last day we flew out late could we stay in the room until 5pm and have a late check out. We thought it was agreed upon and then eric is gone and Daniel owner over turns the decision. Now in fairness we were told someone was staying in the room and we needed to be out. Then communicate to us so we can plan. Front desk staff were kind and tried to be helpful, they made calls and told people we had no wifi and no water. I don't go on vacation to not have a toilet or shower as an option. My two buddies want to rate this less than a 1 out of 10 if they could. My issue is how staff handle a crisis or issue and to me they failed.

Habitación muy descuidada, la zona del armario sin insonorizar, se escucha perfectamente la conversación de los vecinos de al lado. La presión del agua había momentos donde solo era un hilo de agua. El ultimo dia, no hubo agua. No hay limpieza de las habitaciones durante la estancia, ni cambio de toallas ni sabanas. Las ventanas se ven viejas. Las escaleras para subir al segundo piso donde estaba la habitación, eran horribles y muy peligrosas. A Las habitaciones les falta mucho equipamiento, no hay TV, ni secador, ni un sencillo escritorio ni siquiera una simple colcha (solo hay una fina sabana para taparte). Parece un calabozo. La ducha no tiene ni una simple cortina o mampara y cada vez que te duchas, cuando hay buena presión de agua, el agua llega hasta el dormitorio. Lo único bueno, que cuenta con aire acondicionado. Seleccioné este hotel por la cercanía a la playa, pero la playa es inaccesible, y tienes que caminar hasta otra a unos 400 metros para poderte bañar.

Amazing value. I stayed in the room with the private balcony overlooking the ocean - exceptional. It is no Ritz Carlton, but the location is hard to beat and the friendly staff (Noel and Erick) provided for my every need. Highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers who want the best view!!!

It could be better nothing worked well. We literally used a bucket to flush the toilet and there was an all glass door in front of the shower anyone could see and come in.
