We spent 2 nights at Holiday Inn Express. It is a very clean hotel. The staff was very nice.We were there for my granddaughters cheer competition. When we arrived Friday night there was a sign on the desk saying the pool and gym was closed for maintence (the whole reason we picked this hotel). It was closed our entire stay. When we got to our room the toilet wasn't working properly. We called the front desk, maintenance arrived about an hour later (10:30 pm). Got it working. In the morning there was a note under the door saying we might not have hot water till 3:00pm. My granddaughter had her competition to go to so her and my daughter took a barely warm shower and her other grandmother and I just washed off. On top of that the toilet still wasn't working when we got up in the morning so we notified the front desk and maintenance showed up after lunch and put new insides in the toilet and a new water line. Finally working. My granddaughter was very disappointed about the pool being closed. The staff and maintenance man were very nice. They did what they could to help with the problems.I felt we should have gotten an adjustment on our room for everything we went thru, but we didnt.

Upon check in, we learned that the pool and fitness center were not usable. This was not shared prior, and sadly made for a bad first impression. The first room we were assigned had a broken refrigerator. We were given a new room, however the door access did not work. We then were given a third room. Thankfully at this point we had a working refrigerator. Sadly, the deadbolt did not work and the door was uneven. In the morning, the toilet would not flush, then, after being "fixed" ran all night long. The staff was as accommodating as they could be, given the circumstances.

The toilet seat screw was broken and missing a piece The tissue box was empty The hallway floors were dated and worn and needed to be cleaned A little attention to details and can improve ratings The key card for the room door didn’t work the next morning The breakfast was stocked and the staff at check in and checkout were very nice! We needed a place to rest our head, it was inexpensive ($130) for the night so it was a good value for the cost : )
