Scenic rest for soul and body

Mainly stayed for Keswick Convention. Walkable distance from Base Camp and Main Tent at Skiddaw Street. It's quiet and near a scenic view from a river nearby. The lawn of the Hotel brings rabbits and relaxing atmosphere to guests. Friendly staff and great self-served breakfast. A good balance of price and service. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely large room, very clean and comfortable large super king bed. Stunning grounds and very short walk to centre. Booked last minute and impressed with what we received and location especially offering parking too. Loved reading the history on hotel too.

Friendly staff on reception. Room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed. Lovely views. Evening dinner was great. Restaurant staff well turned out and polite. The food was great with a different menu the nights we were there. The bar area is more modern looking and comfortable. Will stay again.

Convenient hotel for Keswick

A nice hotel in a convenient location for Keswick. We had a deluxe room. Some of the furniture looked a bit tired but overall ok. A little concerned over how the full length sash window opened from floor level - no 'security' to prevent things falling out, especially children. We had DB&B deal. Quality of evening meal was good but felt it was served up without any breathing space between courses. For the price, felt breakfast should have been freshly cooked rather than buffet style. Although actually a reasonable deal, there was a hint of "coach tour" style to the dining experience.

Keswick Easter holiday visit

Stayed here with my daughter as a base for enjoying some waking. Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We only had breakfasts there but it was really tasty with good service. The venue is very nice with a sense of history to it. Room was spacious and comfortable. May be in the process of getting refreshed as some parts seemed very fresh and modern while other bits looked more traditional. Great value for a very pleasant place to stay and a perfect base.

Excellent staff, great food and lovely location.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was excellent as were the lounge, bar and dining areas. Bedroom had a lovely view but most of the windows were painted shut and the bed was "interesting" as it was on a distinct slope and the matress was somewhat soft. Overall a fantastic stay but the room was a bit tired.

First time visit, no complaints at all. Nice, clean and modernised rooms (well ours was anyway). Brill location. Reasonable prices in the lounge for the drinks. 10/10 would recommend.
