We had lovely time at this lodge, the staff is very friendly especially Mr Knucles who works on various outdoor activities. My kids had a great time here, would definitely like to come back. Hope the approach road becomes better.

Nice staff. Lodge had plenty of food and drinks. Food was good. Room was fairly clean. We did not swim but we did canoe at no extra charge. Lodge had plenty of board games. The beds were a little hard and the wall heater made the room warm.
CAROL, 2-night trip

What a gem! Property has a beautiful lake where you can canoe, paddle board, kayak, etc. Buffet was great and they offer 24/7 access to buffet leftovers, snacks, and things like cereal, toast, bagels, drinks, etc. Lodge was wonderful!!!

8/10 Very good

- excellent service - friendly staff - good food - comfortable bed (except for the pillows) - quiet room - convenient location - lengthy detour from generals highway on forest service road will last into summer - main lodge is very old. Needs work.

Great Vibes

Overall a great experience and I will definitely come back. Not so much for the lodging but the overall experience and amenities provided. I have two young children and the lodge was a great experience for them as well as my family. There were a lot of fun things for them to do around the facility and they are very thoughtful in the layout creating options for children of all ages to enjoy. Arts and crafts, lake, paddle boarding, canoeing, tennis, archery, pellet guns, you name it! The facilities were dated but that didn't matter as much to me as we did not spend that much time inside. They breakfast and options they had were great and it felt very much family oriented and friendly place.

Just freakin awesome!

When we drove in, it was already magical. The lake, buildings and cabins all as expected. We stayed in a Forest Cabin and it was awesome. The food was great and I love how they leave the left overs in the fridge incase you missed a meal because you were playing outside. They had a smore making campfire and the only fun we missed out on was archery with Knuckles. But next time! There were also cows wandering around. So cool. The staff was so amazing and helpful. The kitchen staff made sure we were well fed the whole time. Just an awesome, relaxing time. Can’t wait for this to be a yearly trip.

Lodging in the park can be tough as it's limited. That being said, this lodge easily provides the most value and the best star gazing and break away from the tourists. Three amazing meals a day saves a lot of money and time and the meals there were better than any place we ate up and down the sierras. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Waking up next to the lake and nature and campfires with smores at night was icing on the cake. Beds were comfortable as well. Highly recommend!

8/10 Very good

We loved the property, play area for the kids and adults. The porch and the lake area to sit on in the evening. The rooms were below average and not cleaned properly.
Rajeev, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The 3meals a day included in price was awesome. Plus they had snacks, fruit, drinks available 24 hrs. The place is very run down. Rooms were satisfactory, needs a lot of updating. Main entrance was washed out due to storms in the spring so they had a service road in. It was ok, but they should tell you before booking as part of it was dirt. Could be a very nice place to stay if “ cleaned up” around the property & updated.
Cathy, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The place was interesting and we enjoyed our stay however it was a bit inconvenient for people our age (late seventies). The room was upstairs and the stairs were many and steep. The staff was very helpful though and they carried our bags up on arrival and down on departure day. The detour to get to the lodge was very long along dirt road. The food was very good and plentiful. In the end we had a good stay but probably will not return.
Tom, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The property itself is OK. Our room was very old. We found blood on one pillow that was replaced and we needed to leave all our windows open at 30 degrees due to a gas smell in the room.
Arman, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The location and setting make this lodge. We stayed just out of season (end of October), but the pool and hot tub were already drained (I had really been looking forward to using the hot tub under the stars) There was little to no soundproofing in the lodge (the building by the lake), it was like having a herd of gazelles in the room upstairs. The food, while included in the price, is limited, and edible, but not particularly good.
James, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I hate to give this place a bad review since the staff was excellent and it was so clean. Unfortunately getting to the lodge was a hassle because of the dirt one lane detour which was not at the fault of the lodge. Signs were very clear but we didn't get a heads up about it. Also unfortunately the room had a smoke detector that went off at 10:00 pm at night and I didn't know how to turn it off so I used earplugs to get to sleep. Also we had a room next to the stairs which we could hear people coming up and down the stairs all night. Other than that everything was fine. It was nice to have snacks and drinks available and the breakfast and dinner was an added plus.
Lily, 1-night trip

The staffs are very nice. Good place to stay inside the national park. My favorite part is the food there, especially after a day hike.

Great service, food was good, the place was a bit dated but clean and the drive in was a bit of a challenge
