Good, compact business hotel especially for the price. Older property but well maintained and room has all the amenities you’ll need (tea, kettle, mini-fridge, slippers, toothbrush + paste, comb, q-tips, etc.). Very close from JR station. Also close to Lake Suwa. The large public bath has natual hot spring water and almost anytime we can take it. The complementary breakfast is super rich. It's buffet and serving japanese and western, many kinds of dishes.

Hotel Route Inn Kami-Suwa is an old-school style hotel that is close to Suwa lake! Inside you will find an indoor Onsen where you can bath in certain hours. In the morning you get complimentary American-style buffet for breakfast. The building is old and so are the staff, but there still is charm coming from this Hotel.

They wouldn't offer me a non smoking room which was very hard on my allergies. In general this place is quite old. Bed was pretty uncomfortable I almost would have preferred floor mat. The shower wouldn't stay consistent temp. Walking distance from the park though so enjoyed the location
