Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing.
As soon as we walked in, there was a very strong, unbearable smell. It was clear the unit had just been sprayed right before our arrival. At first I thought it was an air freshener, but then I found bug spray under the sink and realized that was the source. There were also many mosquitoes or small insects on the floor, and some even stuck to my suitcase.
Communication with the host was also frustrating. I received multiple emails with check-in and check-out instructions, including options for early check-in/out. However, when I reached out about the smell, I never received a response—even after 3 days.
The entrance door felt like a serious safety concern. It has a double-sided deadbolt that requires a key from the inside, meaning if someone locks it and leaves, anyone inside cannot exit without a key. That’s a major fire hazard. At the same time, leaving the door unlocked didn’t feel safe either, as the area gets busy and loud at night.
The floors were also very dirty and didn’t seem to be properly cleaned—you need shoes just to walk from the shower to the bed.
The only positive was the walkable distance to downtown, but overall, I would not stay here again.
