We stayed in 7 hotels total in our Argentinian trip and this is one of our favorite. The hotel is cabin like, very cozy and warm which is what you want when it’s cold and windy outside. Our room is so Cute! Has a nice view of the lake. The town is a short walk away. Staff is super friendly. This definitely made our El Calafate stay extra special.

I loved this place! It has a rustic lodge feel. Room was a little on the small side but clean and nicely furnished. Fantastic breakfast. Beautiful patio with fantastic view of mountains and lake…great for sunsets. Short walk to town. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights at Los Canelos in El Calafate, Argentina. Spotlessly clean, beautiful place inside and out. The view from the hotel restaurant and rooms (#105) is breathtaking. The sunrise over the mountains right in front of the hotel in the distance is not to be missed. Well appointed rooms. Copious self serve buffet breakfast. Also had both dinners at the hotel restaurant, great local dishes on the menu of the day and a very diverse a la carte option. Walking distance from the center of El Calafate and the beautiful walking path along the lake. Also walking distance from the bus terminal. Highly recommend.

We love Los Canelos. Definitely a home away from home. We were greeted very warmly by front desk. All the staff are so nice. The lobby and the whole property is very clean, absolutely spotless. It’s always warm when you walk in, which when you’ve been walking in the rain. The view is so beautiful, on a clear day you can see the lake from our window. Also it’s just a very short walk to town. The bridge and road is being renovated so just a little rough of a walk but we didn’t mind.

Very clean room. It’s a very pretty hotel with exposed wood and bricks, it has a beautiful back patio and the lobby. The rooms are not large but very cozy. It was quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast had scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, ham, cheese, vegetables, various fruit juices , bread and sweets. It was a close walk to the Main Street in el Calafate, very convenient. Also not a problem for pick ups for excursions. Taxi or other transfers to the airport may be needed, we were not able to find Uber service in el Calafate.

The property was clean and an easy walk to town. The breakfast staff was very kind and efficient.. if you would like a cocktail with your dinner, this is not the place for you. The menu says a jack Daniels cocktail is $25 and you cannot bring your own alcohol on the premises.

Hotel Los Canelos in El Calafate has proven to be an excellent choice. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a bit more modest, typical for Argentina, but good enough to start the day. To my surprise, the hotel offers a laundry service. A bag of 5 kilos of clothing for (American) $20. By Argentine standards, that is cheaper than I expected. By the way, we got the laundry back clean and folded the same afternoon. Another thing to keep in mind when staying at this hotel is that the walk to the center is quite a walk both up and downhill. For travelers who have difficulty walking, this can be a challenge. Furthermore, it is very pleasant to 'come home' to this hotel. We enjoyed a bottle of espumante (bubbles) after dinner, 2 evenings. Paid 30,000 pesos per bottle, approximately €27, that was reasonable priced. The hotel has strict rules. When you enter the room there is an A4 with a kind of 10 commandments that you have to adhere to. For example, do not bring food or drinks from outside into the hotel room. Or losing your room key will result in a fine of 100 dollars. All in all, this was a very pleasant, nice and quiet place for us to stay and highly recommended!
