We stayed at Joli Boutique Hotel during our recent visit to Rome, and while the location is excellent, just a short walk to the Vatican and surrounded by several great dining options—there are a few things travelers should be aware of.
The building is quite old, which gives it some charm, but also presents practical challenges. The elevator is very small and outdated, fitting only 2–3 people at a time. It requires navigating two different manual doors, which is especially difficult when carrying luggage, or if you’re traveling with kids or a stroller. The wait for the elevator can often exceed 5 minutes, and there are a few stairs to climb before even reaching it, making accessibility a concern.
That said, the rooms are nicely done, the staff is friendly, and the surrounding area is lively and walkable. If you're traveling light and don’t mind some old-world quirks, it could be a cozy and convenient choice. But for families or anyone with mobility issues, this might not be the most practical option.
