The pub is set in a beautiful village and is old and quaint. It has s very close to Ham Hill Country park. It has a large bar area with lots of unique table spots to relax in. There is also a garden which I didn't use but looked nice from the window in my room. There is a campsite which is well appointed and great for a campervan stopover which is what I originally planned to do.
The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The menu and specials offered a wide range of food and all of our party were very pleased with their evening meal choices. The quality of the food and service was excellent.
The pub and the rooms are dog friendly and there is even a dog menu.
I was disappointed with my room. It is furnished to a good standard and was very clean and made up well but I had a poor night's sleep. I booked the single room which backs onto the ladies loos so is noisy with banging doors until closing time. There is also a green emergency fire escape light that stays on all night and illuminates the room. There is also a fan/motor that runs throughout the night.
Also please be aware that no breakfast is served at the pub which was also a disappointment. The pub do suggest breakfast venues in the room info.
