Great Place, shame about the host.

The location is great. The stairs are brutal with a suitcase, but I knew about that going in so I can't knock the place. The views for breakfast were great. Check-in was a mess, the host said someone would meet us at the dock, but no one showed. The host does not belong in customer service. I asked if we could have breakfast at 7 so we could have an early start and she told us we would have to make our own breakfast. She insisted breakfast should be at 8:30. Other hosts on the same trip had no issues with this request. She made us two eggs for a family of four. When we asked for more she said "ok, but this is your last one". She seemed impatient with us, like she had better things to do.

La pasamos genial en Amalfi.

El lugar es una belleza, la vista desde la habitación un verdadero sueño, el desayuno en la terraza mirando el mar es algo que no podés perderte. La atención es muy amable. La dificultad para llegar es la que describen y detallan en la página, los escalones que con valijas y mochilas se hacen largos pero el lugar y la habitación valen la pena.

Amalfi gem

Lovely setting in Amalfi with great views from breakfast terrace. Great staff and breakfast. Beautiful ceramics decorate the room! We enjoyed our stay!

The view was incredible. There were a lot of stairs, but we were prepared for that and it was worth it. Mena was very accommodating, even making us an early breakfast the day we left.

Rooms were alright, we had two twins pushed together which was fine. The breakfast in the morning is incredible, they went over the top to make it wonderful and you have beautiful views while you eat.

Perfect!

The property manager, Carmela, was great in her communication prior to our arrival and during our stay. Her recommendations were spot on!! The location of II Porticciolo was even better than we thought. Quick walk to the plaza centers but far enough away to be quiet. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea could not be a better way to start your day or finish it on the terrace with your wine. We can't wait to go back!!

Room with view

We stayed 2 nights coming from Roma in Nov. 2015. The apartemnt was great and the view and scenery outside exelent. A small drawback is the close to 200 stairs to climb, but once done the view will blow you away. The staff had to be contacted by phone in oreder to check in, since the lobby is staffed only soem times during day. Breakfast and terrace fro meals was just great. The tasff was friendly and helpful. Please note bad cellphone coverage just outside room, so call / mail in advance.

Perfect location, million dollar view

We were met by Carmela, our host, who was very friendly, helpful and made sure we had a fantastic stay. We had a lovely breakfast that she prepared for us and enjoyed this while sitting on the on the terrace overlooking the sea. Our room was very clean and had a view to die for!!. A short walk along the pathway overlooking the sea bought you back into Amalfi's square where cafe's, bars restaurant's had great food. My wife and myself would thorough recommend anyone wanting to stay at Amalfi, to stay at this picture perfect located B&B and we would definitely stay there again.

Vi hadde booket rom til familie på fem men fikk kun senger til fire personer med beskjed om at dette var hotels.com sin feil. På tross av at vi måtte løse denne utfordringen noe kreativt på egen hånd gir vi hotellet høy score, for dette er en liten B&B med stor sjarm med blant annet god service, renslige rom og god frokost! Og så har det jo sin sjarm å gå opp gjennom byens mange trappetrinn! ;) Anbefaler dette for både par og familier.

Genuine and lovely with beautiful view.

We really enjoyed our stay at Il Porticciolo. We choose Amalfi to stay for three nights when exploring the Amalfi coast, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. You can easily reach Ravello (by bus), Capri, Positano and beaches close by (by boat) from there, and enjoy the nice cite centre and restaurants in Amalfi. The hotel is super nice, yet simple. Only five rooms which makes it very personal, and Carmela and her staff is truly helpful and will go out of their way to assist with everything you might need. Their hospitality and kind manners, a long with the view over the bay from the terass (no balconies in the rooms) makes up for what every you might miss in aspects of luxury. Note that there are many steps to reach the hotell which makes it a bit of an exercise when arriving with baggage. We did not miss anything when staying here, even though we always wish for balcony, and perhaps a bar or restaurant in hotels, and I will highly recommend it and for sure go back when visiting the coast again. A more warm, genuine and beautiful experience is hard to find.

親切なスタッフのいるB&B

口コミをみて決めました。確かに海の眺めは良かったです、でもスーツケースを持っての港からの移動は、結構しんどかったです。朝食も確かに眺めは良かったですが、イタリアなのにコーヒーも美味しくないし、果物や野菜、卵類が全く無くパンだけなので、宿泊料金の割にとても残念でした。オーナーの女性はとても親切で、フレッシュなレモネードはとても良かったです。

素晴らしい眺めを堪能できるお部屋でした

3泊滞在させていただきましたが、とても美しい眺めを毎朝毎晩見ることができて居心地がよかったです。朝ご飯が食べられるテラスも素晴らしい眺めで、優雅な一時を過ごすことができました。こういうところの写真は5割増だろうと思ってましたが、ほんとに写真通り素晴らしいホテルです。担当してくださったのはLinaさんでしたが、とってもチャーミングなお姉さんでした。ナポリ空港までのシャトルサービスを帰りにお願いしていたのですが、B&Bではやってないとのことで、代わりにCar Serviceを手配してくれました。現金しかダメだったようですが、交渉してくれてクレジットカード支払いでもOKにしてくれたり、早めにチェックアウトさせてくれたり、朝食も出発に合わせて早めに用意してくれたり。してほしいことをきちんとお願いすればやってくれる良いホテルと思います。また是非泊まりたいと思っています。

B&B without Reception during the day and 400 Steps

Two very disappointing issues: First, Chek-in was supposed to be from 10:30 hrs, however, what the Expedia-Mail did not say is that the B&B is closed from 12:00-16:00 which ment we had to wait for 2h in the sun. Second, we booked the B&B because it was said that parking was available. However, the B&B can pnly be reached via 400 steps through the old town (traffico limitado!). So parking might be available somewhere, but you still need to carry all your luggage up 400 steps - which is not an easy thing in 35°C...

Simply Wonderful

Aside from the difficulty in reaching the hotel (not unexpected as this area is very hilly with lots of steps), we were truly impressed. From the start, we had great communication with the proprietor. Once we booked the hotel, she provided us with clear directions leading us to the hotel. She was also helpful in providing the best way to reach the area (bus/ferry), as well as details regarding transportation departure/arrivals times. The hotel was quaint, the room was clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing stay at Il Porticciolo!

I came here with my girlfriend for a 3 night stay on a trip across Europe and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Amalfi Coast! We arrived late and the owner was very nice and accommodating for our late check in. The breakfast was served on top of the B&B overlooking the water and the incredible coast. The room was large and included a small kitchen. The owner went out of her way to give us tips on activities and places to go. I hope I can come back and stay at Il Porticciolo again soon becasue our stay really made the Amalfi Coast something we will never forget!

Nice hotel with charming host and superb view

If there is a place to stay in Amalfi, I would definitly recommand this one! The view is just magic and the hosts were really nice! The room was also well furnished, clean and would suit to a lot of people!
