We were in Greece for a wedding. The pictures and description of this hotel were misleading. We are not people who believe in giving bad reviews. But we will not staying there in the future. Nor will we be recommending this hotel to anyone. Not pleased at all with this property. All other propertys were outstanding. Thank you.

We had a great 2 nights at Ippokampos Beachfront. The welcoming staff were amazing. Friendly and very accommodating. We arrived at around noon and they had our room ready to check in. The room itself was nice and clean with all the needed amenities available. The only uncomfortable thing in the room was the position of the air conditioner; it was right in front of the bed and, no matter how much we tried, we couldn't deflect the air flow from the bed. We had to do without it during our stay. The other thing that led to scoring the service as GOOD rather than EXCELLENT was the service of the breakfast staff. The lady in charge was not very friendly verging on rude. As an overall evaluation, Ippokampos Beachfront is a lovely place that you should stay in despite the minor comments in my review. Thank you for making our stay pleasant.

Beautiful hotel right on the water with beach chairs. Room was clean and comfy. Was catered to a gluten free breakfast each morning but unsure about cross contamination. Plenty of gf options nearby. Restaurant only accepted cash when we were there, card machine was down for a week which was a bit annoying. 15min+ walk from the port was a struggle with large bags and limited to no taxi options.

Beach shack feel

Hotel is about > 1.5 kms from the port, we stayed for 3 nights - it’s walkable. Check in is swift, Receptionist Was friendly and helped with luggage. There’s no lift, so some stairs to climb. The unit has basics for cooking, electric stove, no microwave. We didn’t cook. Free bottled water on arrival only. No teas/coffee in room which is odd for a hotel. Furniture & decor were very budget. The safe was tiny n old. Towels n bed linen were a little worn. Unit had dangerous pipes sticking up n out from the floor. Shower stall has no door or screen, hence the outside - whole flour gets flooded, be careful of slip hazard. Water pressure was good. Wifi was good, watched Netflix on own devices, not on the TV. Breakfast was decent, in the restaurant that’s had been modernised, kept well & modernised on beachfront. We went in the shoulder months and it was pricey for a unit with partial views to sea but mostly looking out to car park.

On arrival of our stay at Ippokampos Beachfront hotel, we were told that they no longer had a room for us as they had overbooked and that we had to stay in a different hotel, which was located behind the property. This was incredibly frustrating as this was a special trip for us and we had splashed on having a larger room with a beach/sea view, and were given a small room with no sea view. The hotel claimed they had tried to contact us to let us know, but hotels.com also had no evidence of this. It then took over three hours to resolve this issue, taking up one of our days on the island. It was incredibly disappointing and I feel it is important to leave a review so that this does not happen to anyone else!
