Perfect Rhone Valley retreat

We were cycling the Via Rhona. This hotel is a little off the track, but absolutely worth the detour. A quintessential village retreat, covered in flowers and with superb views of the Rhone Valley. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable; perfectly adequate with a great bathroom. The food is a highlight here. Tough to overstate how good it was; both dinner and breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout.

Our room had a look of neclect, it seemed as if not a lot of effort was made in making the guests feel comfortable. Few electrical sockets, a couple of them with no electricity. A light switch not functioning. A cupboard door off its hinges. Very stained curtains. Uncomfortable pillows. There was enough space for more than one chair, so that one of us didn't need to sit on the bed .

Lovely with a caveat

This was a lovely set up, with a warm welcome and superb meal in the restaurant. The room was comfortable but for an overpowering smell of damp coming from the en suite bathroom. The black grout and masking tape on the bathroom floor indicated this was a long standing issue. Management said it will be addressed before the room (#4) is booked again.

Chambre spacieuse et confortable, avec balcon (un store électrique serait un petit plus, le store mécanique actuel nécessitant 80 tours de manivelle !). Petit déjeuner "continental" avec un grand choix de fruits. Situé en bordure du village de Sérignan-du-Comtat, idéal pour la visite très intéressante de la maison-musée de J-H Fabre, célèbre entomologiste du XIX ème siècle.
