8/10 Very good

As a foreign solo traveller, the Japanese-style single rooms were more than enough, and not that much more expensive than the hostel shared room. The room was clean and had a good view of Mt Rishiri. The walls were thin, so I could hear the people in the room next to mine.

Tidy and clean Japanese Pensioner. Tatami mats and futons were paired with good bedding. Our room had a sink and toilet but we used a communal shower that was clean and well stocked. From the description of the room, it was unclear if there was a shower but it was no problem.
