It’s a historic hotel, so the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The view of the river from the window looks like something out of a fairy tale. The breakfast room is also beautifully decorated in an antique style, which makes it especially charming.

Magiskt hotell! Läget är toppen, mitt i Dürnstein. Hotellets personal var oerhört trevliga och hjälpsamma. Restaurangen var den bästa vi testade i staden och hotellets frukost håller högsta klass. Faciliteterna och rummen var stora, fräscha och hemtrevliga!

If you’re looking for the best place to stay in the Wachau, this is it. Dürnstein is the jewel of the region and this is a beautiful, classy and unique hotel with gorgeous gardens, a nice outdoor pool and views of the Danube. The restaurant is excellent too, and breakfast is wonderful! The staff is helpful in renting bikes, which are the best way to see the valley if you’re able.

The hotel is a musty old building surrounded by musty antiques. If you enjoy nostalgia this is your place. If you enjoy crisp and clean accommodations with modern amenities look elsewhere. The staff was excellent.

Unique hotel with an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel was centrally located in Durnstein which is a wonderful village. The price of this hotel was steep for room we received. Non the less, we were aware of the price and enjoyed our stay.

Great location right on the Danube. Serene garden view or river views are very calming. I love how they’ve converted this 11th/12th century property still maintaining some ancient structures and artifacts into modern living space. The owner takes special pride in every little detail. Wish we had more time to explore this beautiful town and surrounding countryside. Will definitely come back and tell our friends too.

This was a such a charming hotel in the most charming village. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. (Rooms do not come with refrigerators and they arranged to have one placed in my room for my medication). As it was an old monastery the atmosphere is magical. Be careful you could spend your entire time here at the pool and in the gardens they are so peaceful. The room was perfectly air conditioned even though it was in the upper 90s. We paid for a room with a view of the Danube and the view was perfect. You will be thankful you booked a stay at the Richard Lowenhertz.

Excellent location, charming place and would definitely recommend staying during the fall (however be aware of the date that hotel shuts down as the services are cut) upshot is that there are less tourist from bus, boat arriving during the end of the season

Uma experiência romântica e inesquecível no Vale de Wachau Nossa estadia em Dürnstein, foi excelente. O hotel é lindíssimo, extremamente romântico e muito bem localizado, sendo uma ótima opção para quem deseja conhecer o Vale de Wachau e vivenciar uma experiência especial na Áustria. A equipe de funcionários foi excepcional: atenciosa, prestativa e muito profissional. O hotel também é extremamente limpo e confortável, proporcionando uma estadia muito agradável. Um dos grandes destaques foi o café da manhã, que é excelente. Há muitas opções de pães e queijos, além de outros produtos de ótima qualidade. Para quem está acostumado ao padrão brasileiro, a oferta de frutas pode parecer um pouco mais limitada, mas, de forma geral, o café da manhã é realmente muito bom. O restaurante do hotel também merece destaque. Vale muito a pena fazer uma reserva, pois a experiência gastronômica é excelente e complementa perfeitamente a estadia. Ao caminhar pelos corredores, observar as obras de arte e contemplar os detalhes da construção, temos a sensação de fazer uma verdadeira viagem no tempo — mas com todo o conforto de um hotel de qualidade. E há ainda um detalhe que tornou nossa experiência mais romântica: poder tomar um vinho na varanda do hotel, contemplando o Danúbio. É um daqueles momentos simples, mas que ficam na memória. Na visão da minha esposa e na minha, foi muito mais do que uma hospedagem: foi uma experiência de conforto, história, beleza e romantismo.
