The breakfast was great, and the rooms were clean and spacious. However, the pool is an outdoor pool, located in full view of a conference area (which were going on for most of our stay). There is also a "hot" tub, but it is only heated by the sun (during the day), so there really isn't one. Also, the hotel has plenty of placards stating that they're eco-friendly - to please leave towels on the racks and they won't change them, etc, but despite me leaving them on the racks, they changed them (and the sheets). Then the following day I left a message for housekeeping to NOT change sheets and towels, and they still changed them. All in all, this is a wonderful hotel a few blocks from a main thoroughfare with plenty of shops and restaurants. Just know that your sheets and towels will be changed regardless of what any sign says.

A very good hotel for a short stay in San Jose. We had a hugh room on the 9th floor. Breakfast was good, but not many choices. Coffee was weak, but that's a problem all over Costa Rica. Some nice restaurants in the neighbourhood, I highly recommend Lubnan, a Lebanese restaurant. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from downtown San Jose.

The staff especially Juan Carlos from the breakfast dining area and Rosa from the 12th floor cleaning service were wonderful to us. They went above and beyond. Breakfast was legit Plato typico. This is our second time to the country and we will bookend our next trip with this hotel for sure as we look to explore the nature side of the country. Do yourself a favor and stay here for a few days and learn about the people before hitting the playa!

Great value option in SJO

At about $60 a night, this was a great value stay for us. The room was large, comfortable, and even had a nice view of the mountains surrounding the city. There is an outdoor pool and the included buffet breakfast definitely did the trick. The neighborhood is a bit dead at night so possibly not the most safe, but during the day we never felt at all unsafe. It's about a half hour walk into the city center.
