Clean, lovely shared space in lobby to relax. Great room/space & location, however it was near to the cabinets for cleaning services and it was horrifically loud in the room every morning (banging doors, screeching ironing board, furnitre being slid around for cleaning). There is no sleeping-in here and the first night was booked a day ahead as we arrived 7am. Needless to say that was a waste of money and planning as the cleaning started shortly after our heads hit the pillow. I wish it weren’t so as the remainder of the hotel/experience was quite good.

4/5 rating. Good: Staff, Breakfast, Room Size, Location, Clean rooms Bad: Shower gradient incorrectly constructed = bathroom kept getting flooded. Lounge Bar very cosy but no one ever was at the bar to serve drinks so pointless Bottle of water in the room but no bottle opener to open One elevator only so a lot of waiting Carpets stained all over the hotel so common parts a bit dirty Hotel staff are doing the best they can so I salute them. Hotel owners probably need to spend some Capex on the hotel to bring it up to standard.

Check in quick and easy, room 328, so bit of a walk to room, but good size compared with other rooms we passed. Clean and well presented. No tea and coffee facilities in room, did say you could ask for a kettle. Did not book breakfast in advance and wished we had, as cost €47 on morning for 2, the breakfast was more continental than cook. Great Italian straight across road, highly recommend.

We were delighted to be upgraded to a Dom room with a dual aspect view. A VERY LARGE ROOM WITH SUPERB AIR-CONDITIONING. We spent three evenings on the wonderful roof-top bar with high quality cocktails and friendly service. (Other evening at the Staatsoper for Debussy). The breakfast was very high quality but in the heatwave we also breakfasted next door in a great vegetarian cafe for a lighter option. All reception staff were most helpful. Hackescher Markt is our favourite area to stay and normally there is a direct S Bahn line to the airport for 5 euros...or change at Hauptbahnhof for a slightly quicker train at the same price.
