I really wanted to love this stay, but the lack of basic utilities and the staff's "not our problem" attitude made it impossible to enjoy.
The Issue: No Running Water
For several hours during our stay, the water in our suite was completely shut off. Normally, this might be a minor hiccup, but the timing was terrible. We had just returned from a long day of snorkeling, and being unable to rinse off the salt and sand was incredibly uncomfortable. Beyond that, basic hygiene—like flushing the toilet or washing our hands—became a major ordeal.
The Response: Lack of Support
When we contacted the staff, they informed us that the city was performing maintenance nearby. While I understand that external infrastructure issues are out of the hotel's direct control, the lack of assistance was disappointing.
• No proactive communication: I wasn’t warned this might happen.
• No temporary solutions: The staff didn't offer bottled water for hygiene or access to a backup facility.
• Zero empathy: We were essentially told to just wait it out, despite paying for a "luxury" suite experience.
Bottom Line: A hotel’s primary job is to provide a functional space to rest and clean up. If they can’t provide water, they should at least provide a solution or a sincere apology. I left feeling salty—literally and figuratively.
