A long weekend away

5* Stay - highly recommended!!!

We stayed one night for a local concert at Caldicot Castle. The owner/landlord is so friendly and welcoming (and the staff). Great food at lunch - The steak and ale pie is excellent, as are the home cooked chips from locally sourced produce. Lovely quiet, comfortable and clean room with mini fridge, kettle and coffee/tea available. Great breakfast. Overall a really pleasant stay - Excellent.

Personale molto accogliente, stanza grande e comoda, in un antico pub. Bell'ambiente, ottime birre. Stanze un po' datate, ma molto caratteristiche. Purtroppo l'immancabile moquette tipica .

The staff make this property all it is. This a small space, althought the restaurant compared to the 2 bar areas is surprisingly large and air conditioned which made all the difference on the heat-wave day that we visited.

This was simply a great Hotel/Inn to stay at. Staff were super friendly and nice, beds comfy, breakfast delicious and if you're a history nerd, it's right next to the Roman walls. Would absolutely come here again.

Lovely peaceful stay for my parents diamond anniversary.
Amanda, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice friendly pub. Room was basic but clean with a kettle and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was a bit disorganised as there was no menu as such and it was difficult to find out what was available. Good if you like a full English breakfast but otherwise poor.

Basic!

Don’t believe it’s worth £100 night?! Very basic; breakfast wasn’t bad though!

2/10 Poor

Has to drive hours to get here early before our evening out as they won’t allow check in after 10 as no one at the pub so we didn’t feel comfortable with staying on a premises with no one there in case of emergency 2 women alone in strange area wasn’t what I expected Wooden stairs that I can’t do with my disability wasn’t mentioned on booking Room was very tired and dated beds old towels prices were awful hard and ancient Window open onto huge smelly kitchen extractor fan squeaking away I could not sleep with that next to the window We took one look and left in10 minutes we didn’t even stay the night So a total waste of 100 what a rip off

I would stay here again

I had a very pleasant day and would stay here again just a quick note there is no food served on a Monday evening but there’s plenty of places to eat and you can order in a Takeaway Breakfast is enormous. You might need to lie down afterwards.
