The first thing we see at pour arrival is how great its location is. Right between the St-Hubert and the Tim Hortons, 1 minute walk from the great old downtown street that we like to walk with all the boutiques and restaurants, and close to anything else (Berceau du Canada, bank, mall, cinema, etc.). When we entered our room is when we liked it less. We were immediately struck by a strong, disgusting smell of humidity. It seemed to come from the AC, so I turned it off and the smell eventually went away. However, the floor carpet remained for all of our stay with an impression of humidity, cool and dirty. We were also hearing very well the room above ours. Was also noisy outside when the voyageur bus arrived in the parking late at night. The rest was all good. We appreciated that there is still an alarm clock. Most motels these days remove them, probably thinking that the guests' cells replace them, but they don't! As soon as you open your eyes, you know what time it is! And a big positive point from this motel is that even though it has no breakfast inside, we get coupons for 50% off at St-Hubert litterally next door, so we've had a super great breakfast there for our whole 4-person family for less than 50$. Pros and cons. May recommend it!

An older hotel that appears to be in the process of updating; the (older) bathroom was small but worked just fine, and the room was freshly painted, clean and comfortable for a night's stay (our room faced direct sunlight and because of the heat our shades had to be closed making it a very dark room). A few small shops/good restaurants down the hill, and Haldimand beach is a short drive away. Breakfast is available next door, a bonus when on the road travelling! A good Gaspe stop.

This is a normal standard for a motel, the price could be lower considering that a Normandin Hotel and suites 5 times higher in quality than the Rodeway Inn is at the same price. But we're all good motels, close to restaurants, the port and the water's edge for nice walks. Good service

For the high rate ($)…it was poor

The accommodation was not the best, the bathroom was very small, the interior was dated - aged. Not too many extras. No soap in the bathroom. Limited towels provided. Location was central. The receptionist was very nice and accommodating.

Avoid at All Costs – A Disappointment in Every Way but One I recently stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Gaspé, and I feel compelled to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. Let me be clear: the only redeeming element of our stay was the professional and sympathetic service from the front desk staff. She was kind, understanding, and did her best under the circumstances. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Due to a large event in town, this was the only room available—we had no choice but to stay. What followed was a deeply unpleasant experience. The most intolerable aspect was the odor. A pungent mix of cigarettes and stale incense clung to the room like a permanent stain. We kept both the window and front door wide open for an hour in an attempt to air it out, but it made no difference. The smell was embedded in the space and rendered the room nearly unbearable. Adding to our discomfort were a series of maintenance failures: The television only worked sporadically. The air conditioning unit was entirely non-functional. The heating system was unresponsive despite chilly evening temperatures. And then there was the soundproofing—or lack thereof. We were woken in the middle of the night by four guests conversing in the parking lot. They were not shouting, merely talking, yet their entire conversation could be followed word-for-word from inside our room. This went on for an hour, preventing any rest.
