Very welcoming staff, when I first arrived there, the front desk staff Stephanie and Shemar helped is quickly check in and walked us to our room and showed us all the ameneties. Bar staff William, Stephanie and Elizabeth ALWAYS greeted us with a smile. The drinks were always delicious. Would have loved if there were more fruit options at the buffets throughout the day. Houskeepimg always did a great job. Beach was cleam and beautiful. The staff will be the reason why I come back. Thank you for welcoming us.

Not going back, would not recommend

Although the property was immaculate and beautiful, the Front desk people were rude, not helpful when i asked for advice about the meetup spot for the snorkeling charter that i was late for. They kept talking about hotel rules knowing i was late and even after i asked could i come back later to go over that stuff. They didnt know what the rate was to add another guest to my reservation since i had accidentally left off my 9 year old daughter which took another 10 minutes to figure out. (Knowing i was late for my prepaid snorkeling tour) The website says all of the activities were included and i still had to pay anyway. I couldn't get any compassion or reimbursement after my flight was delayed by 24 hours. I let the hotel know several hours before check in time asking if there was any possibility for my reservation to be adjusted to reflect the new dates and the reply was that i’d still be charged the whole nights fee as a penalty. My flight was cancelled, I missed a night, and was being charged additional fees for adding my 9 year old daughter. It was offered the “day pass” where she would have access to the beach but not the pool or the food. Like i said, beautiful property. Gorgeous and clean. But God forbid, you accidentally dont include your child in the reservation, or your flight gets cancelled by no fault of your own, or you want to do any of the “inclusive@ activities without paying extra.

The resort’s location is one of its strongest points, with stunning views. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, the location really delivers on both fronts. Unfortunately, the property itself is in need of some updates. The aging decor and some maintenance issues hold it back. It didn’t necessarily impact my overall stay, but I was expecting a bit more considering the price point. For the most part, the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few individuals who could benefit from some additional customer service training. A couple of interactions felt a bit impersonal or rushed, which was disappointing. One area that definitely needs improvement is the dining options. There aren’t many choices when it comes to restaurants, and the reservation process is confusing. It’s hard to figure out how to book a table, and when you do manage to get one, the food doesn’t always live up to expectations. More variety and a smoother reservation system would make a huge difference.

It was a perfect paradise and only a 3 hour flight from Dallas. The beach was perfect. It had great air conditioning, hot water, a fridge in each room, free Wifi. The hotel was stunning, attentive and quiet. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and clear water steps from our room. We will be back!

Good reviews: Well-kept property. Staff excellent. Air-conditioning efficient and quiet. Some things disappointing: The one-bedroom studio does not have a separate bedroom - the description is misleading. No coffee pot; no face cloths; no hair dryer. These have to be requested from reception. One small piece of soap in the bathroom, plus small packets of shampoo and conditioner combined. Other resorts have plenty of these available in the rooms, with the shampoo and conditioner in separate containers. Annoying things: No bedside alarm clock; no plug for the bathroom sink (the water just flows out); no suitcase stand in the closet. Some things to know: The two major restaurants are good but you have to go to reception to make reservations and they must be made before 2pm on the same day, and you cannot reserve for future days. One trivial thing is that they do not provide steak knives with a steak meal - you have to request them! The lounge chairs on the beach do not have umbrellas set out ready, but all you need to do is ask the attendants to put one up for you. They provide two full-size towels but the towel exchange places close at 4pm each day, so be aware of that.

Great resort!

Everything was stellar! Cheers to Sharea the dive instructor. She is an exeptional teacher and guide. I could t have been happier at Mayan. The price and quaility was exponential.

The good: -pretty resort grounds -GREAT staff -good selection of drinks -elegant rooms -comfy bed -great location and the beach view is breathtaking -food exceeded our expectations Heads up: -I am blonde and my hair turned green in the pool. (This has happened my whole life in private pools, never public pools and I worked at several for 5 years. Came out with a special shampoo, good to go. Hotel may want to check chlorine and PH levels more frequently and make sure they’re hitting targets.) -this is a boutique all inclusive. Food isn’t available after 9, which is a little early. We had snacks in our room for evening and would grab popcorn from the snack stand in the afternoon to save! -you might have to walk to the front desk to request extra linens, hair dryer etc. the staff is great, but this isn’t a chain Dreams resort and you don’t have a tablet to request items. That was MORE than fine with us, the staff was probably the best all resort staff we’ve ever had!!

Generally a pleasant stay. Food and bars were great/plentiful & dive shop/operation too; however, the A/C kept shutting off by itself around midnight each night causing me to wake because of the heat to re-start the A/C.

I loved the beach right there! But all inclusive was very confusing! Staff took soooo long to get drinks and food out. And i was very dissapointed that my children being locals of the island could not wait for me in my room while i changed. Will not stay here again...

The hotel is very nice and the personnel is very friendly. The best of this resort is the beach. Expectacular!!!!!!
