Well, first; the outer door to our “lodge” didn’t lock. Then, the first thing we saw in our room was the space heater. There was a 2 inch gap under our room door; we had to lay the ironing board across so you couldn’t see in from outside. The heater was broken on so it was either a constant rainforest or freezing. The free breakfast consisted of bread and bagels( there’s a toaster) yogurt, a gallon jug of milk and cereal. In the room, our coffee pot had no lid and we had only decaf.

The owner was nice, but this place needs major updates asap. I had issues with both the shower (either BURNING hot or freezing cold) and my outlet that the heater was plugged in to started burning (with smoke and smelled terrible). Supposedly there was a cancellation so I was moved into another room, but prior to that I wasn't offered anything (discount, apology, whatever) and it was over $150/night. I was pretty shocked that nothing was offered given the circumstances.

Check in staff not informative of any amenities such as breakfast. Chalet cute on outside but inside...full kitchen with NO SUPPLIES except 2 spoons, many dirty cups, 3 plates, no pans, no sponges, dish towels or papertowels, no broom or dust pan, rugs at entrance threadbear and stained with salt, unable to lock deadbolt, did not match door.. then the bedding.. dirty box springs, beds became concave when sitting on them.. the bathroom had a hole in the shower body...I would not recommend this to anyone! -5 star!

This wasn’t about being ideal. This was about being unsafe. The fan in the ceiling of the bathroom was hanging down off the ceiling. It’s partially over the shower. If it fell while one of us was in the shower we would have been electrocuted. We did not use the shower because of this. The heater in the room was also malfunctioning. Not good in February. We stayed one night and will NEVER stay there again.

The hotel room was clean and warm and there was plenty of hot water, but it is beyond dated and needs some updating. The free ‘breakfast’ was awful - basically Froot Loops and individually packaged muffins with bad coffee and tea. Better to walk in town to nicer cafes/restaurants.

It was okay. Great location, friendly staff. It was just a little old and creaky! I think some of the buildings on the property are better than others, hence the widely varying reviews. Contrary to some of the reviews I read, it was well cleaned and sufficient for my stay.

Very sad to see the decline in this place. Stayed here in 2020 and then returned in Jan 2026 and it’s went down hill considerably. Stains all over the walls, none of the surfaces had been wiped down in our room, hallway is filthy. Nonexistent breakfast. We’ll never be back, definitely worth paying double to stay at the Wingate.

I tried to cancel my room because I was sick and wasn't able to go on my mini vacation. The person on the phone couldn't understand me whatsoever and I got nowhere so I'm being charged for a room I never even stayed in.

this ski lodge hotel is a bit rundown and the room i was in was mediocre. there was personal trash behind the bed and the nightstand. there is a hole in the wall in the bathroom. the shower has two settings: scalding hot or freezing cold. the toilet doesn't appear to be securely screwed into the floor. the parking lot was a sheet of ice. the redeeming factor is that the be was very comfortable.
