We stayed for 1 night as we were driving through, there was plenty of parking available, we arrived at night the area felt safe. The bed was soooo comfortable! We are bed snobs and typically only like Hilton beds, this had a bed with the comfort level of Hilton. We would definitely stay again!

Apparently Fred's is the best place to stay in the Norwich area. So says several people who live in the area. The room was clean. The bed was OK, a little soft for me but might be fine for others. The TV seemed only able to get channels from my subscriptions so I just didn't use it. Nice refrigerator with separate freezer section. Nice microwave.

I love staying at Fred's Inn. It no fuss to check in and out. The rooms are comfortable and guests can enjoy great food and drink at restaurant. Staff is so nice.

Stained towels. Coffee maker crusty and dirty You could see light through the door jamb where the locks/knob are like someone tried to break in. Good hot water in the shower though! Because we used it after the questionably clean jacuzzi tub. Wall ac was adequate

Fred’s Inn is a clean comfortable minimalist motel. This was our second stay here. The people are nice. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. We can’t ask for more. Conveniently located for our child’s college.

A good, old school roadhouse stop

Worth it just for the on site restaurant! Old school with multiple courses included and some of it was over the top good. The oil for the bread course and dip for the veggie tray was great! We had the surf and turf special for $29! Lobster tail was good. Steak was ok. Probably tenderized and i don't love that texture. The green beans are amazing. Never thought I'd write that sentence. Service was not great but good (there were multiple mistakes like forgetting the soup course until the entree came and giving both of us the wrong sides), but she was very nice and hooked us up with half and half for coffee. We had doggy bags to put in the fridge. Check in was with the bartender and you didn't really know that unless you go to the bar and ask. Lots of smokers outside the motel rooms. We weren't sure if they were workers staying there for a job or guys living there.
