My boyfriend and I had a very pleasant one-night stay at the Port Townsend Inn. We weren’t expecting fancy, which it’s not, but our room was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s not right next door to downtown but is walkable to restaurants and shops.

It was a basic dated motel room, that worked fine for us. The location was good - not far from the ferry terminal and downtown. The staff were all nice and we appreciated the air conditioning and parking and being dog friendly. It was great to have the co-op right near by for food.

First of all, my choice was to stay for 6 nights while my neighbor remodeled her kitchen in the condos where we share that wall. I didn't realize that the staircase to my King unit with Hot Tub was so steep, and that there was no elevator. That was my fault. I had previously had a wrist injury and, being right handed and in a brace on that hand...well, my bad. That was not very helpful for getting in and out of that great hot tub....but I did and it was nice. All the people at the front desk, as well as the cleaning people were fabulous and helpful. Probably my number one complaint of the structure itself was the shower in the bathroom. I was so happy to know it was a "walk-in" because of my wrist injury. The faucet was impossible! To get hot water there was a lot of pressure, but too hot, and to cool it off it had zero water pressure...just a cold drip. I left 2 nights early. Cannot say enough kind things about the staff. They were fabulous.

Beds were clean and comfortable. All the plumbing and HVAC and lighting were in good working order. My fellow traveler lost the key to her room, but I found it in my pocket that evening, and no harm came from it. The staff were very undrstanding and helpful during that event. All in all a good two day stay for an older establishment. Don’t let the web site appearance fool you, it’s much beter than they make it look.
