Beautiful weekend away

We had an incredible weekend at Sofitel Wellington celebrating my sister’s birthday in July. Sergio and Daniel at the front desk were so welcoming and kind to our 4-year-old, even making her a paper rose which she still has kept safe a month after our trip :) Tappan from the restaurant needs a mention too. He made our evening memorable. Fun to talk with, he gave us great wine suggestions and was super attentive all night. The hotel is great but the people there are what make it. We will definitely be back!

Super hotel in a great location

This is a lovely hotel right in the centre of Wellington a 2 minute walk from the BeeHive parliament building. The staff were super helpful and friendly upon arrival. We used their valet service and although there was ample car parks we could have used, it was an easy and efficient service to use. Our room was great and the bed very snuggly. We ate in the dining room and had an excellent meal on our second night and once again great service. Would highly recommend this hotel

I cannot fault the Sofital - the staff were compitent and friendly plus courteous - the room was gorgeous, had a fabulous view over Bolton historic cemetery and tree clad hills, and it was extremely quiet - the bar and restaurant were sumptuous and the meal we ate in the restaurant was excellent! Would highly recommend a stay in this hotel.

The room was large, modern and well maintained. We had a problem with the desk staffing as we were trying to check out early in the morning to catch the ferry. There’s a dearth of restaurants and bars in that area, so it’s unfortunate that the lounge isn’t more inviting.

Lovely hotel but small rooms lacking storage.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff & great service with a fantastic breakfast. Rooms (classic at least) are a little on the small side with no drawers to store clothes which is annoying for a weeks stay. Only a small a wardrobe though they did supply more hangers. Bose sound system didn't work in my room.

Comfy modern hotel, however in the classic rooms the only in room coffee is instant - given the premium pricing for the hotel I would expect at least a Plunger or a pod machine. Breakfast was adequate.

an excellent hotel. breakfast buffet was really good. i would have rated it 5 stars except for the fact that their internet server crashed and the internet was down for most of my stay. to get it fixed, they had to bring in someone from auckland! it crashed the first night of my stay, was down that night, and the next day and night as well. other than that, everything was excellent. doubt the internet issue will re-occur.

Substandard. Def shouldn’t be five stars .. more like 3. Didn’t even have a heated towel rail. No real milk for tea. Tiny room. Shocking room service menu .. quiche Lorraine, burgers, fish & chips and club sandwich.. really??? More like a 70’s motor lodge. No salad or soup of lean meats or curry just a cheap menu that you would expect from a low rent takeaway bar. Not eve complimentary water. 3 stars at best. Will never stay here again. Sofitel should be ashamed def not up to their usual standard. I’d drop this branch!!
