This was my second stay at Ethos, a cozy and comfortable boutique hotel in a tranquil neighborhood just south of the river. My room was large and comfortable (A/C works great, even on top floor). But what most stands out about Ethos is the STAFF—so warm, friendly, and accommodating. There are the biggest part of the reason I’ll be back again.

The staff works very hard at making this a pleasant experience for the traveler. However, it is hammered by the age of the building, and the fact that some maintenance could be performed in cleanliness could be also improved. I had just checked in after a long flight from California and I saw a huge spider running across the floor now I’m not fond of spiders.. luckily they were able to move me to another room. It was very cramped and somewhat noisy.. Some guests were complaining about extra charges that were not explained. I did not have that issue.

This is a little hotel made from some houses so there isn't a lobby or lifts. But my room was spacious and had everything I needed (little mini kitchen in the corner too!). The breakfast was excellent. We hung in the dining room at the end our our day with some drinks chatting with other guests and the bartender which was really nice. This was our favorite place to stay on this trip.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Parking was a bit difficult as there was very limited space to manoeuvre due to the tight residential area in which the hotel is situated. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom door was not fitted properly (hanging off the top hinge) and didn't close. The hall and stair cases in the building where our room was located were in need of a good clean although it did have a new stair carpet. The exposed wiring to the fire alarm outside our room was not very professionally completed. Having said all that we had an enjoyable stay and found it very convenient for walking into the city centre each day so luckily we did not need to move our cars until we left.
