In Detroit for a Tigers game. Pleasantly surprised by this place. Staff was very friendly and allowed us to Check-in early so we could get to the game. Room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel is only a couple blocks off the riverwalk, which was a very pleasant walk.

The staff was friendly and efficient. Check in was easy and the shuttle was a nice surprise. The hotel itself is very aged. It suited our purpose and have us a place to sleep after the game, but it's definitely a no- frills location. Parking is not fenced or otherwise protected and our vehicle was damaged while staying here.

I was nervous from other reviews that i did not see before booking. Overall, it was not as bad as others have reviewed for our room. I did bring my own sheets due my own OCD. Overall, the room was tody, bathroom was clean and stocked. The fridge did not work but we also did not try hard to remedy it. I did wipe down the surfaces due to some being sticky. The room did not smell that bad at all besides just old building smell. The carpet was absolutely disgusting from being old but was clean overall. Tv worked. Staff, breakfast, and location were great.

You Get What You Pay For.

We had stayed there a couple of years ago, so we knew pretty much what to expect. It is a pretty good value for the cost. A clean no frills room with a comfortable bed. The shuttle service is beneficial. The included breakfast was nice, and the choices were good. The breakfast area had been improved and upgraded from our previous stay. Rooms had been remodeled but still need a few items taken care of.

Exactly what we needed!

The hotel was great! Small room, but it’s exactly what we needed! I booked the room last minute because we had walked into a terrible hotel that we just couldn’t stay in. Everyone welcomed us and we felt so much better compared to the one we were going to stay at! Will stay here again!

We arrived late around 10 pm. The Surfaces in the room were sticky, I went down and asked the clerk for some Clorox wipes and she handed me two single wipes. The remote had crud in all the crevices so we had to wrap it in a Clorox wipe to handle it. The wipes after we cleaned all the nightstands, tv stand and touchable surfaces in the bathroom the wipes were brown. The AC did not work in the room and when I informed the front desk all she said was that she would inform maintenance. We asked for late checkup and were told our room was reserved for someone else and they proceeded to rush us out of the room by calling and saying housekeeping was waiting outside the door and they weren’t. The carpet was extremely dirty and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The bathroom had a very musty mildew smell.

Great location for local events

Great location if attending a game. Easy 20 min walk to the stadiums. Only 2 blocks from the river area. Free parking here. Bring your own blanket if you need warmth. Only bedding is sheet and very thin comforter cover.

Disappointed

Bathroom sink was backed up. Main door didn't open properly due to obstruction at the bottom of the door. Shower curtain was moist and couldn't tell if tile grout was clean. Walls around the baseboard in need of repair. At the edge of developing downtown Detroit but clearly on the wrong side of the development. Noisy. Loud traffic in parking lot all night long along with shouting and music. I wouldn't walk from this location into the downtown area. Bed was comfortable but once something makes you feel like it's unclean then the whole place seems to be unclean. As I wanted to be close to the Detroit Windsor tunnel it was only a couple blocks away. I chose this location without really knowing the area I was choosing in.

Good location to downtown Detroit and River Walk

The building had been recently renovated. The rooms were comfy and well appointed. Good to have a frig and microwave in the room. Bed and pillows were outstanding. The daytime front desk Tashan (?sp.) so helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. She knew the area and gave good suggestions. I will stay here next time I am in Detroit.
