国立公園でのトレッキング目的で利用させていただきました。国立公園のど真ん中にあるので部屋からの景色は抜群に良かったです。当方は片言の英語でしたが、フロントのスタッフの方々は熱心に案内して下さり、トレッキングの相談も親身になって対応して下さり本当に助かりました。 この日は利用客が少なく、レストランは閑散としていてスタッフの方々も暇を持て余している雰囲気はありましたが、アラカルト方式の夕飯も朝食もとても美味しかったです。

Quick stayover in Clarens

We had a 1 night stay over at the Golden Gate hotel. We initially thought we booked at the hotel but was surprised that we had booked a chalet. The chalet was perfect with its own braai (BBQ) outside and all the amenities required for a proper self catering experience. Would definitely stay there again as it about a 15 minute scenic drive to Clarens.

The surroundings are beautiful. The chalet is old, but ok. The food for breakfast and dinner in the restaurant is terrible. Cold meat and pasta and vergetables at the buffet. The lounge snacks are better, but not open after 18:00

Good

The most beautiful and stunning mountain view and surroundings. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.Water was seeping through the bathroom floor resulting in the bathroom being flooded.There was no hot water in the bathroom, so we had to boil water in order to wash.There was an unbearable noise coming from the roof, the fan extractor in the bathroom couple with the noise from the generator right in front of the room.The hotel and the room in particular requires urgent maintenance.

Der befahrbare Teil vom Nationalpark ist relativ klein und das Wetter leider zu schlecht für die Wanderungen. Das Chalet war gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Leider war das Restaurant am 24. abends und 25.12. morgens wegen der Vorbereitungen für das Mittagessen am 25. nicht geöffnet, was uns auch leider nicht gesagt wurde. Das Frühstück im Restaurant war sehr gut, in der Lounge war das Abendessen nicht sehr gut und auch das Frühstück weniger gut. Da hätte ich mir einen Hinweis gewünscht, vor allem, weil wir extra nachgefragt hatten.

Great stay with minor critique

Great stay, few things that could've been better. Wi-Fi doesn't reach the rooms, which is especially bad since the TV signal was (understandable) grainy at best. The AC unit in our room was a welcome commodity however it was making a loud mechanical noise the entire time it was on. All staff was really friendly and the rooms and common areas were very clean. Some confusion with the restaurant, we paid for bed and breakfast but on the second day of the trip was asked to pay for breakfast. One of the big reasons we chose Golden Gate was to see the vultures at the vulture restaurant but was very disappointed, no vultures and it looked like they hadn't been fed there in quiet some time.
