Enjoyable site, we stayed two nights. Granddaughter liked the fitness room. Breakfast area and options were good. We used it as a jumping off point to go to Grand Portage. Fun downtown and access to the lake. Great miniature golf course.

Overall, the stay was good. The facility does show its age and several areas need refreshing/updating.

The pool and hot tub were nice. But they didn’t have any clean pool towels. We had to turn on the sauna and wait awhile for it to get hot.
Our toilet would keep running until we jiggled the handle enough for it to stop. The beds were very hard. It’s a decent hotel and we’ve been staying here for years since I grew up in Grand Marais. It just needs to be updated.

The property is in a great location for the town, access to the trails and Gunfight lakes.
We were forts given a lower level room with a view of a utility truck. We asked for a different room and moved to the main level where we had a partial view of the lake.

Breakfast wasn't with alot of options,no drinks in rooms and vending machine out of order. This was inconvenient as we had to run up to the gas station. There was a plus for handicap accommodations withmoving from the 3rd to the 2nd floor.

When checking in the staff could have told us the short way to our room rather then letting us carry our luggage the long way.

Great Location
This is a great spot walking distance from so many things in Grand Marais. It's not fancy, but is well taken care of and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The price is also excellent compared to many other places in town. We love that we can walk to Gunflint Tavern and shopping.

Great location, easy walk to shopping, the harbor. The decor is stuck in the 1980's, but it was clean. The only thing I didn't like was the electrical outlets were all under a counter or piece of furniture. Not convenient for plugging in our electronics. Not even a USB outlet. People today travel with electronics and would recommend this hotel update their access.
