Room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and professional. Having a view of the lake was great.

6/10 Good

Great location, breakfast options slim, room spacious, carpet stained and dirty, ripped screens on windows letting in bugs, missing outlet covers.
David, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Carpet in room needed a good shampooing. Room was spacious. Nice breakfast.

Great find in Grand Marais

Great location and great price, really enjoyed the pool!
Samantha, 2-night trip

Would definitely recommend this place. Easy walk to downtown. Clean rooms and helpful staff.
Katie, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Our room was clean, odor free and comfortable. It’s quick and easy to get to the main shopping center and eating spots. The hotel is a bit dated but we would happily stay there again. Spacious parking. The breakfast was very modest, bagels, toast and boxed oatmeal, but very good coffee. There are great breakfast spots nearby so why easy the calories at the hotel.
David, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The room was comfortable and the lodge is conveniently located in the heart of Grand Marais. The guest laundry was free to use, although it could have been cleaner and the machines weren't in great shape. Continental breakfast is included.

Great service and great partial view of Lake Superior. Room was spacious for a family of 6.
Johnathan, 1-night trip

Standard hotel. Clean, no issues. Nice to have a pool.

Loved this place!

We loved staying here. The staff are all helpful and friendly. Even if the decor is outdated as some reviews mention, the rooms and property are immaculate! We’ve never stayed anywhere that every square inch of the room and bathroom were this clean. This hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to downtown Grand Marais. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you!!
Phillip, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

A bit dated and basic. Main window in my room was broken. Breakfast was very basic, nothing hot.
Ruthanne, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good view of Harbour. No elevator.
Jeffrey, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The front desk person was smiling and helpful and the beds were firm and comfortable. The hot tub was not working and we were looking forward to using it. The facility was in dire need of an upgrade of carpet, doors and trim. The TV did not have any channels, and we didn't bring our Netflx password with us. The shower was the worse and it barely trickled out the water. This Lodge was not worth the $183 price we paid for. It was well past peak leaf viewing season on top of it.
John, 3-night trip

IGH guest

Room was clean but needed updates - old mattress, stained, mildewy carpet, dated bedding. Front desk receptionist seemed more occupied with her smart phone video games than behaving professionally. Breakfast was continental, at a minimum. Coffee was ok, bland bakery goods, no warm food options such as eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes. Upside: wearing proper walking shoes, harbor and restaurants withing a mile.
Signe, 2-night trip

Had the best sleep in months!

We had the best sleep we have had in months! We chose the king room with hot tub in the room. They even had bath salts next to the tub! The room was dated (I was worried about the other reviews I read). But the bed, cleanliness and quietness outweighed everything. Isn't that what you want? Oh, the price was $100 less than any other hotel in the area (in August).
Karen, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Comfortable, quiet room, easy walk to downtown area and waterfront.
Kevin, 1-night trip

very disappointed in the breakfeast , did not meet previous standards.
Randy, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Well located for access to Boundary Waters.
Vicki, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

We only stayed one night in Grand Maris. The room was clean, but dated. It served its purpose. Grand Maris is an entranceway to a lot of nature, hunting, fishing, etc. The town itself is okay.
Andrew B, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The pool and hot tub were nice. But they didn’t have any clean pool towels. We had to turn on the sauna and wait awhile for it to get hot. Our toilet would keep running until we jiggled the handle enough for it to stop. The beds were very hard. It’s a decent hotel and we’ve been staying here for years since I grew up in Grand Marais. It just needs to be updated.
Amber, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very friendly service and convenient location
Penny, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Basic Hotel, but very clean. A nice stay to enjoy Grand Marais if you don't care about being in the room much.
Heidi, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great location, easy walk to shopping, the harbor. The decor is stuck in the 1980's, but it was clean. The only thing I didn't like was the electrical outlets were all under a counter or piece of furniture. Not convenient for plugging in our electronics. Not even a USB outlet. People today travel with electronics and would recommend this hotel update their access.
Susan, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The motel is somewhat dated but overall is clean with comfortable beds. The continental breakfast could be improved---even just offering hard boiled eggs would be nice.
