Nice simple clean hotel! I really enjoyed sitting on the little patio outside my room to have a snack or have a drink. I looked at beautiful flowers in that setting. The staff are nice and helpful. Check-in was easy and pleasant. The best thing about this hotel is breakfast. You can choose from about 6 hot meals and you get a plate of fruit (or many plates) and coffee. They have an entirely vegan hot meal, which was great for us.

Great Stay in Monte Real Hotel

The room is BIG with 2 queens size bed. Daniel and Jackie both front desk receptionist were very helpful with information about transportations/tours etc. the free breakfast was simple but all home cooked. it is NOT on the major strips of the town but all fruits stands, supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries were within few blocks

Lovely place, friendly staff, beautiful location

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was the first place we stayed in Costa Rica. Close enough to the town square for food, but just far enough away to not hear any traffic. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, they couldn’t help you more. The breakfast was delicious and fresh each day. The grounds are incredibly well kept and the room was perfect for 2 travellers. The air conditioning was excellent (and needed!) and the bathroom had a huge walk in shower. 10/10 stay, would highly recommend.

Great hotel right in town with a secure parking lot. Tons of dining options all within 5 minutes or less walking. The hotel also has a great restaurant with breakfast included. Luis was a joy every morning and ready with cocktails in the evening. The staff were wonderful, and helped set up reservations for excursions. A frog garden is located in the back of the hotel along the river, where we found some beautiful tree frogs. Only downside was our shower didn’t drain well. Other than that, no complaints!

There’s a river that runs through the back property and you can take a nice stroll and enjoy the nature. Shopping and restaurant locations were walking distance.
