The cottage was extremely clean and tidy, and very well appointed. Little things, like extra tea towels and toilet paper in the drawers, really made it feel like a home away from home. There was a small amount of road noise during the day, but the landscaping made any traffic invisible. It was so nice to sit in the sun, surrounded by garden. An oasis in our busy week!

A lovely spot on the outskirts of town, with lots of lawn and gardens surrounding a private cottage. Inside was modern and well setup for a family. Simply a wonderful experience all round

Amazing. Friendly greeting. Immaculate condition. The HRV was great. Full Sky selection was the best considering the All Blacks were on. Close to town but private and lots of nature. Saw a tree full of Kupupa. Would definitely love to stay again.

There are only 4 cottages on this site. Very modern decor, fairly new, great kitchen, 1 bedroom with a queen and twin bed, another bedroom with a queen bed, spacious living room area. The unit has a washer and a rack for drying clothes. The outside area has a barbeque and wooden tables and chairs. Great value for the money, was there are the end of June, off season for tourism. It is surrounding by rolling grass hills, lots of room for children to play.

Amazing cottage! wish we could have stayed longer

A real home away from home - so comforting and lovely. Has everything you need including a washer/dryer. Beds were super comfortable as well. The owners are lovely and ensure you are settled in and happy to provide tips about the local area. Approx a 7 min drive in to Whangerai where you can find restaurants and supermarkets. A real gem to stay in!

Too short of a stay for us!

Such a wonderful serene, restful and 'de-stressing' accommodation. Everything you could ask for and more at Birchgrove (except we missed seeing the grove of Birch trees!). Tranquil park-like grounds/setting for these individually self-contained cottages. Very modern, fresh and well appointed cottages. Great bed and quiet setting to get the most of the night rest. Thanks for the stay.

I have nothing negative to say about Birchgrove cottages! The cottage was so well set up and Janette had even dressed it up for Christmas which was a very sweet touch. So well appointed, didn’t need anything. Even lent us some umbrellas on a rainy few days. So peaceful and quiet. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

This is an absolute gem of a place! Beautiful surroundings and view. The cottage we stayed in was brand new and had every possible amenity. Phil, our host was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations for eateries and shops. I’d definitely stay here again!
