We had no hot water in our room, the sound from the bathroom fan sounded like a Boeing 747, the toilet seat was broken and our next door neighbour had a sign on their smoke detector "not working". The facilities are not well maintained and the wifi didn't work...so disappointing.

Due to the very wet weather it was impossible to get an appreciation of the gardens etc. The room was clean but the overall view of the accommodation was that it was very tired and needed an upgrade. For the price it was a good stay. The Lantern Restaurant however was superb. The service, food and general appearance was excellent.

Definitely a good location and handy for people travelling with pets. However it’s an old hotel in dire need of maintenance and updating, not a place you’d stay for longer than two nights. We did enjoy the pool on a hot weekend!
