Ther is no pool it closed over 2 years ago but still appears on website likewise the "immaculate grounds" arent real life photos. The owners refuse to spend money on repairs claiming leesor is responsible. We still enjoyed our stay Why. Front counter lady excellent and helpful Room around the back Very clean linen despited dated room The price reflects the current state. We will be back infact this isnt the first visit.

We didn't end up staying, the room smelt of smoke (inconsiderate workers), there was some black mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and the state of the Motel out front is terrible. We also booked here based on there being a pool. When we arrived we were told the pool no longer works!!! It looks like there is NO care or love from who ever is managing this place. The person at reception was understanding about us wanting to cancel, she was the only great thing about the Wayfarer.

Has a derilict, abandoned air. We actually thought the motel was abandoned at first and that we had the wrong address. The office is not manned at all, phonecalls not answered, after ringing out a message says the mailbox is full, all outdoor plants shown in the advertising photo were dead, left over rubbish from previous guests in the bin in the room, shower clogged and spitting water, microwave handle broken, shade cloth over pool torn and hanging down, towels threadbare, and air-conditioning hit and miss. Definitely would not recommend.

When I first drove past it looked like the place had been abandoned. It is not well maintained. The bed was uncomfortable. They did not leave me a towel (I did not notice until the morning but no one was in reception). The lamp beside my bed did not work. The power point beside the bed did not work. The aircon unit (which thankfully I did not need) was covered in dust. There was very little bed covering so it was cold.

Excellent stop over in Muswellbrook !

The room is actually okey , comfortable bed , functional aircon, microwave, hot shower with good water pressure ( my room was on the back ) , clean bedding , kitchen tower , face washer . Excellent value , would stay again !

Wayfarer Motel or Bates Motel? On approach it appears like a motel from a Midwest American slasher film. The trees and grass are overgrown and all the greenery on the motel itself is dead and dying. I have expected to find Norman Bates manning the reception desk. You receive the combination to your room on a Post-it note and I’m unlocking the door you find it won’t lock again. The rooms are small but adequate and to be honest for what you pay they’re okay. It has to be mentioned that the bathroom had a stool straight out of the 1970s, which is the one that looks like a plastic picnic salt and pepper shaker. When you try to shower at 7 o’clock in the morning there is no water coming out of the hot water pipe, you’ll find out later in the day that they have it turned off and you have to ask for it to be on the next morning. The staff are pleasant and helpful, though they can only work with what they’ve got. I won’t be staying there next year.

Photos of this property were obviously taken 10 years ago! So run down. I’ve stayed in many motels all over the country/world and this would have to be the worst place we’ve ever stayed. There were hairs on the pillows. My kids complained of being able to feel what felt like dirt at the end of the bed. The door between main bedroom and kids bedroom didn’t close! Bathroom doors didn’t close and looked so dirty! I don’t think floor had been mopped between stays! No soap supplied! No room key given! Just a written key code on a post it note! Seriously don’t know how this place is still running! Save your money or spend $30 more and stay elsewhere!

couldn't pay me to stay there again, my door code expired a day before I was due to check out. No staff were in the office or around the motel, no one answered phone after 6 hours of being locked out I had to call a lock smith to break into the room for me, left voice mails and a personal message, no one contacted me after I left to tried to make anything right

Budget accommodation at reasonable price

Rooms out the back are decent 3-star standard, with signs of wear and tear but clean and functional. Front of building looks very rundown and cannot comment on these rooms. Owner was very helpful.

This would be my in my top 3 of worst motels ever stayed in. We were allocated room 15 after our room 1 was not ready at 2.45pm at check in. The room was grubby, dusty and in dire need of renovation. The bathroom ceiling mouldy. Curtains ill-fitting and torn in places. I have photos to back up my assessment. Never again.
