This is a very unique little hotel sitting directly on the main Vaxholm ferry terminal. The building itself is historic (so, naturally, old) and no-frills, but it was clean, well-kept, and charming, and the staff were very friendly and responsive. I enjoyed sitting on my patio and looking out at the boats. The breakfast buffet had everything one could want. It felt very safe, as well.

Hotel sits right off the dock at Vaxholm where the ferrys come in, so very conveniently located.. stunning views for all rooms having little balconies.. hotel rooms and hallways charmingly laid out to look like you're on a ship.. breakfast is wonderful and restaurant on street level has excellent local menu.. great leap off place for day trips via ferrys to islands such as Grinda and Svartso (Vaxholm itself can be accessed by car, is much more built up and is much less rustic than those two islands).

Great hotel for its location but appears to have seen better days. Tv didn’t work and bed sheets had stains pointed these out on arrival but neither were fully addressed. Reception staff v pleasant. Room was only cleaned once during 5 night stay. Not great value for money but location for ferry and activities excellent.

What a wonderful view of the water. The ferries were right out our hotel door. The hotel was very old but well kept. There were a lot of stairs to get up to our room. I definitely would suggest a balcony.

The hotel was very, very clean and up. Kept for being over 300 years old. I love the building and the surrounding area. Every place in town was easily walkable. Plenty of activities to do water in front for water taxi's. Transportation to surrounding areas very easily accessible and very cheap using water. And buses for transportation.

Good, but not great

The hotel is close to the boat to Stockholm and close to many shops and restaurants, which is great. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was cozy, with a great view to the harbour. It could have been a tad bit cleaner (especially the shower curtain), but overall good enough. The big downside, was all the noise. First from a local consert (the windows shivered) and then from the restaurant until 01 in the night. Which would be great to know about when checking in. The breakfast was decent enough, not too much, but they had waffles! I also heartily recommend their restaurant Verandan for a nice dinner with a stunning view! Overall; decent hotell on a great island.

Worth it for the view and convenience.

Clean room with a beautiful view of the Archipelago from the balcony. Rooms are small but adequate and there were no hot or cold drinks provided in the room. The bar below was VERY loud for an 80s event in the bar below but was over before we wanted to relax on the balcony in the evening. Overall I would say the price point is a bit high but the hotel’s position makes up for the other shortcomings. Breakfast was excellent.

Jag vet inte riktigt vad frukostmenyn innehöll i sin helhet. Jag och min man råkade sova länge och kom till frukosten kl. 9.40, då fylldes det inte på ordentligt, det var svårt att ens få en assiett att lägga smörgåsen på, det fanns nästan inget mjukt bröd kvar, äggröran och bacon var fantastisk. Jag åt då hårt bröd, efter ca. 5 min började personalen duka av allt. Jag tycker att har man frukost till klockan 10 ska frukosten stå kvar så att gästerna hinner äta klart innan personalen börjar duka av. Jag förstår om man slutar fylla på frukost efter klockan 10 men finns det kvar borde det stå kvar tills gästerna har gått. Vi hade middag med ett stort sällskap dagen innan och då vill jag också passa på att säga om ostronen som vi fick till våran välkomstbubbel. Ostron var jättefina, men tyvärr inte lossade från muskeln så det blev lite svårt för våra gäster att äta dessa. Vi var väldigt nöjda med vårt rum. Vi hade havsutsikt och en härlig balkong.

Oengagerad personal vid incheckning, ok rum men fruktansvärt badrum. Skön säng men bara ett täcke att dela på och osköna kuddar. Svinkalla golv och kallt överlag i rummet. Otroligt fin frukostrestaurang med jättetrevlig frukostpersonal men utbudet var skralt. Hade förväntat mig otroligt mycket mer av det här hotellet.
