Think shabby chic …without the chic, it did the job as was walking distance to centre, it could be amazing if done up. Dark and dingy thankfully I knew this from reading reviews and took a torch, have they never heard of pir sensor lights, would be nice to have at least 1 light on upon entering the building.

This was one of the best Guest Houses we've stayed at over many years. Both the owner, Robert and chef Jose were incredibly helpful and obliging. If you want a 'Faulty Towers' experience without the trauma, this is it. Robert is slightly eccentric in an 'olde English' kind of way and you as a guest are very much a part of his social life in so far as he is happy to talk to you socially at breakfast or whenever. Jose is much the same and attentive to your needs and preferences and the food is excellent - I defy anyone to find a more varied breakfast menu anywhere. Ely isn't a place I'm likely to visit often but such was our stay at Nyton, if I am any where close, that's where I'll make for.

Fawlty towers but beds were comfortable and great selection at breakfast. 2nd Sunday of the month we caught live music sessions in the garden , which was lovely. I liked the quirkiness.

Nyton Hotel was welcoming, staff helpful, very clean, comfy beds, Oldy Worldy, excellent breakfast and I would definitely stay again. Easy walk to town when coming out of Nyton and turn right.

Cosy hotel

We booked the Nyton because we wanted to be near the centre of Ely but not near the main streets. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre and in a quiet road. There is a large garden bordered by trees and very pleasant to sit out in. Our room was well equipped, beds were comfortable, and the refreshment tray was well supplied. The room was cleaned daily and the beverages etc replenished. The owner was very helpful and the staff likewise. breakfast was in the very pleasant dining room and the cooked offering was both appetising and served hot. The whole breakfast selection was very good. We ate in the restaurant the fist evening and were very pleased with the menu and food. We were glad we booked the hotel.
