We rented a cabin last minute as we came across on a ferry. When we arrived, the cabin was ready, clean and really beautiful. The view was gorgeous from it as well! The washroom amenities were wonderful, I took note of the shampoo brand because we liked it so much. We are breakfast at the on site location and the food was delicious, generously portioned and the service was great! We could not be more pleased with our stay and hope to return.

Could use a spruce up…..

It is showing its age. We stayed in one of the tents near the end of the boardwalk. It’s a long walk with luggage and you need to carry it yourself. No assistance with the luggage. Not all the blinds worked properly, it was a tent so we could accept that. The used contacts on the bathroom floor and the mascara on the pillow case were harder to overlook. Thankfully it was a beautiful sunny day when we arrive so we could enjoy the views from our deck. Not worth the price tag for the tents but the location was spectacular.

basic stay

Lovely location & view, attentive staff, and complimentary kayaks were definite pluses. However, we didn’t feel this was value for money. Granted, it was a holiday weekend, but 500+ CAD for a hotel room (we stayed in an ocean view room) that, like other reviewers mentioned, is more like a motel than a resort, felt really steep.

Sadly disappointed

I was very excited as I had stayed in one of the cabins back in 2012 and loved it. This time I was in a hotel room and I was very disappointed this time around. There were multiple dirt stains on the walls and ceiling. The corners of the floors had dirt as well. My room also did not have AC and the sliding door screen was broken so I could not leave it open. The cleaning staff had left it open and there were multiple mosquitos in my room. For the price paid, I was very disappointed with my stay and won't likely return.

Disappointing

Slow check in might have been due to us arriving late in the evening. Room was not very clean with candy wrapper and dirt on the floor and many squashed mosquitos on the walls. There is no A/C in the rooms but there is a fan provided which helps cover up the noise you can hear from other rooms. The mosquito problem was real but after the first night of a three night stay in the "lodge" portion of the hotel, we had pretty much killed all the ones in the room. The holes in the screen patio door were plugged with tissue to ensure no further intrusions. The pool had a maintenance issue and was closed until our final day, but while they were refilling it with garden hoses the water pressure in our shower was extremely low. The on site restaurant was also surprisingly closed one night for unspecified reasons as noted on the paper slid under the room door. As someone else stated best, you are paying for a 4 star hotel but getting a Motel 6 which was disappointing considering the grounds/setting is beautiful.

The property is surrounded by arbutus trees, ocean and views of the mountains and islands. We stayed in one of the Yurts. Very romantic and private. Double jacuzzi tub looking over the water. Deck big enough for yoga. Heated floors and fireplace. Sunsets were spectacular. This is our 2nd year can’t wait for next year.

Began with being ignored then when attended to, being treated rudely. Had issues with sliding washroom door, took over 20 mins and had to remind the front desk again to send someone from maintenance. Same issue happened later at night again. Lots of dead mosquitoes smushed into the ceiling and walls with blood splatters still on the wall. Dirty and a bit rough shape, one of the pillow cases was coming off pillows so I saw the pillow that was quite dirty. Dirty under beds, super dusty in some places, dust and garbage under the beds when I went to check that my kids had not left anything that fell under there. Called the restaurant to make a reservation and they told me they were slammed and we would not get a reservation but could try the lounge. Showed up at 5:15, about 15 minutes later and was told they had no room when we said we had spoken with someone who said the lounge might be an option she said she could fit us in if we left by 6:45. We said that was fine then she proceeded to tell my kids they could not tell because this was a fancy place, which is entirely not the best way to handle that even if you do want to let the parents know you need the kids to behave (which they were not misbehaving or yelling at that point so it did not seem called for). Overall we did not feel welcome from the beginning straight through to the end. We left at 8:15am with people waiting by the locked front door to get in for breakfast which they had reservations for at 8am. Won’t go back.
