This is a precious small hotel in the lovely neighborhood of Jalatlaco ~ the area with beautiful murals painted on the walls of homes and businesses. It's about a 20 minute easy walk from the zocalo ~ the center of town. Taxis are also available for about 80 pesos ($5.00). We spent 11 days here and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Breakfast is included and minimal but certainly adequate. The best part of our stay at Casa Lidia was the kind care given us by Tonio ~ undoubtedly the most helpful, efficient concierge caretaker in Oaxaca and Flor, the daytime manager. Both gave us recommendations for processions, events and gatherings during Semana Santa and Tonio always made sure we knew how to get where we were going and greeted us upon our return ~ regardless of the hour. We'll always stay at Casa Lidia, with Tonio and Flor when we return to Oaxaca.

Casa Lidia is an amazing place to stay! The location is great. The staff goes above and beyond. The breakfast was just incredible! Choices were available and everything was made fresh daily. The room was spacious and clean. The property is kept incredible clean. This is a 5 star boutique hotel. I highly recommend it!

great stay at Casa Lidia for our first visit to Oaxaca. We took a collectivo from the airport and got there in 30min. Our room was clean and simple, included a pedestal fan, bench, writing desk, locker, closet with enough room to unpack all our clothes. daily included breakfast was very good with authentic Oaxacan dishes Staff was great starting with reception, Flor and Tono were very helpful and gave us great suggestions to get around. About a 25min walk to centro and mercados. Room was cleaned and stocked with soap, shampoo, towels replaced every alternative days Lobby had filtered water, sombreros and paraguas to borrow, which was a great convenience Wasn't too noisy to sleep, not much disturbance from other guests. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend Casa Lidia for your visit to Oaxaca

I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast hotel. I stayed here a week with my 87 year old mother. The most outstanding quality of this place to me was the genuine kindness of the staff, always willing to offer ideas for places to go, considerate of my mother's age, willing to allow us to practice our beginning Spanish, and able to speak some English. This place is not fancy, but totally lovely, totally clean and attractive. I loved that our room had no TV. The location is several (5?) blocks from the Santo Domingo Cathedral/Museum of Oaxacan history, therefore somewhat out of the center, but my mother and I found it very walkable and safe. The cooks easily accomodated my vegetarian diet and had options for omnivores as well. The hot chocolate is very special, as is the dark and spicy salsa, and daily variety of fruit and local cuisine. I do expect to return to Casa Lidia.

Our room was clean every day. The room only had two twin beds, a closet and a bathroom no air conditioning no TV. we did have Wi-Fi. The lady who ran the place during day was very nice and there was a man who managed it at night going in and out. You had to ring a bell to be able to get in 24 hours a day. We never tried the breakfast so I can’t comment on that. I think my only negative was I found a cockroach one night we loved the little area that we were in a lot of nice little shops and restaurants.

It’s in a great location. Walking distance to all main attractions - about 20 mins to the main square and the area around Casa Lidia is fabulous, very vibrant, lots going on and great street art (do a Oaxaca by Locals free street art walking tour of Jalatlaco it’s fantastic!). The staff are really lovely and helpful, the breakfast is delicious. The room was large, but quite basic with a small bathroom but everywhere was very clean and functional (lots of hot water). There is a lockbox in the room for valuables, no air conditioning but there is a big fan and no fridge but there is chilled water available in reception. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Cómodo lugar, cerca de centro histórico y de restaurantes, lo único es que no cuenta con AC, solo con abanico y esto puede ser insuficiente en verano, tampoco tiene TV pero si vas a descansar y a pasear está no es imprescindible ya que el wifi es bueno

We had an amazing stay at Casa Lidia. The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk from the city center and close to pretty much everything. The place is beautiful, clean, and full of charm and character. Breakfast was different and delicious every morning. We really appreciated all of Antonio's great suggestions for activities and places to see. We would definitely not hesitate to book again.

Love Casa Lidia and would be happy to stay there again on my next visit to Oaxaca. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Breakfast is delicious and the whole staff is friendly and welcoming. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and comfortable. The location is great. Jalatlaco is a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and a short 10min walk to Centro. Highly recommend.
