After touring many castles in Wales, it’s nice to treat my wife of 48 years to a few nights in an old castle. Old but new. It’s very modern once inside with many comforts and a wonderful breakfast.

This is a superbly restored space and quite unique. It has a few quirks that one should know and are represented by the property managers. There are no meals available outside of breakfast. If one has large pieces of luggage navigating it to ones room could be more than challenging. I am a bit surprised that there is no accommodation made in terms of staffing to provide assistance with luggage.

It was a surprise trip for hubby. As we pulled up to the gates, he let out a huge WOW, I did too. The lady that greeted us and showed us around was lovely. Our room, the Nest, was beautiful as was the rest of the castle. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast and met other members of staff, they were lovely. It was like being in a fairy tale. This is a little gem . We went there for our Ruby anniversary , the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and surprised us with a bottle of bubbly , cards and chocolates . This was a fantastic hotel, all the previous reviews speak for themselves, everything was lovely apart from the dreadful weather which was a shame as I was looking forward to exploring the area. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it
